Going for a break in ride on my favorite canyon road with the Kawasaki Versys x300. Testing the range of the gas tank and seeing what kind of MPG it gets.

I was amazed at how free from vibration the Versys 300 appeared, both the engine and chassis, the mirrors were rock solid the whole trip. Ride safe!

I grew up with in line twins , me and my friends, never did we discuss vibration because it wasn't a issue , now we had enduro thumpers and sure discussed it on those.

Last year I was looking to start riding again after 15 years off. So I got a Grom after watching your video. I’m now looking for another bike because even though it incredible on gas the ride is rough. I commute 6 miles to work through country roads and I was thinking about this bike and hear you are again with the bike I’m looking for. Nice relaxing video.

Great commentary about the history of the creation of the Scablands in eastern Wa state. It was lake Missoula that ice dams kept breaking causing the unusual appearance of the landscape there. Supposedly this was the source of large rocks in the Willamette valley down along I-5 in Oregon.

Great video. Beautiful place to ride. The 300 scoots right along. Years ago I had a Honda CB 350 twin. It was very quick. For the type of riding I’ve done in the past and what I would do if I get another bike this would do great. I’ve thought about a Harley but so pricey. At 72 I don’t have a lot of riding years remaining. This would be fun…Peace..

Nice canyon ride. I bet it's no fun in the summer following a bunch of slow campers... I'm falling for this bike. I've been riding since 1965 and have had a few bikes in that time. Almost all of them were perfect in one way but sucked in another. I've gotten to the time in my life that I want a similar bike that I treasured the most and road the most was the CL175. It to was on a larger frame and seemed bigger than it was. Light weight, good MPG, awful suspension but comfortable up to a refill that you can recover quickly. I've not seen this bike reviewed at all until now. Seems like everyone wants bigger/faster. Well those people can certainly choose what they want. Seems to me they might as well get a car. I learned a long time ago that going slower is more exciting and interesting than missing a sign that says going to "Somewhere". Most people would never go to "Somewhere". Motorcycles were built to do exactly that. A lot of things are right on this bike..... at least for me. Thank you for showing what this can do and is capable of.

My KZbin channel is dedicated to the Versys X300 and has many videos on modifications and installation of accessories and doing it correct. Changing front sprocket to a 15 tooth rubber bumpered and keeping the gear noise down. Barkbusters from T-Rex Racing and what you need to know. T-Rex Heavy Duty Skid Plate (best design) install with a 5th brace added or go all out with adding a 5th and 6th brace for the super beefed up option to lift the whole bike on a motorcycle jack. Full LED bulb swap out for brightness and safety. Adding USB charger, phone charger, Aux lights and a Denali Soundbomb Air Horn. Reinforcing the genuine Kawasaki crash bars. Dunlop Trailmax Mission tire install. And more -

Selling my Himalayan for this bike you have there. Just found you on here and enjoy your videos. Would you say this bike could hold 70 mph and still enjoy the ride for a 3 hr trip?
@GasWorksISO
@GasWorksISO 2 жыл бұрын
Yep. Holds 70 no problem. I’d recommend a seat cushion and a better windscreen. The factory one is very noisy. Maybe consider some foam hand grip covers to cut the buzz in the handlebars for long trips. Oh, and the engine noise isn’t a problem at high speeds. Can’t even hear it. So the high rpm’s shouldn’t bother you, once you get used to it. Coming from the RE it might feel and sound strange, but the little 300 loves to rev high.

I’ve been looking at the versus x 300 for my first bike. Is 300 enough power? I know people who are telling me not to get anything smaller than a 750. (They are diehard Harley guys).
@GasWorksISO
@GasWorksISO 2 жыл бұрын
Don’t listen to Harley guys. Most of them are parrots. How many CC’s you need depends entirely on what you plan on using the bike for. As a beginner bike, the Versys will be great. It has enough power, but it’s way up in the rev range, so it will be easy for you to learn on. You will eventually want something with more power, but don’t skip the small bike stage. There’s more to learning to ride than being able to handle a bikes power. Start small, lightweight, and cheap. There will be plenty of time to buy bigger bikes later.

Great video. How is Versys300x on steep/up hilling sides ? does it like to give full throttle to get some speed out of it ? is it too struggling or how do you find it on hill/steep sides of the roads? I am planning to switch my bike to versys300x and your feedback would be highly helpful

If there a great deal of hills, it may not be the best bike if you like power. Luckily here in SW Conn. we don't have too many on my local highway. I love my 2020 x300 however. Front sprocket change to 15t is essential.
@davegeisler7802
@davegeisler7802 2 жыл бұрын
It has decent power for a 300cc motorcycle , however be prepared to downshift to 5th and wind her out to 10 or 11 K when you have steep hills and /or strong headwinds . It handles great ! , corners almost as good as the Ninja 300.
