as mentioned on the video the boost is too small to navigate for sweetspots. Even if I spend 30 hours of testing for that, and I found a super steep sweetspot, it will still be too small that it won't be significant. Not fully tested in a controlled environment but I have 10+ center builds and no-lifed about 1000 games in rec. - About 75% confidence this is true, shorter arms will result in higher jumps (especially when holding block button). My intuition is that for the block animation to make sense, it needs the vertical to cover the distance of shorter arms. In 2k24, I made identical builds but the wingspan was shorter on one. For whatever reason, the shorter arm chasedown blocks and stationary jump bocks were insane. For some reason, because you jump higher, youre usually doing better block animations. Haven't made identical builds with different wingspans this year to test this but I do feel the jumps to be better on shorter wingspan centers assuming you have some block rating. I believe to see this in jumping for rebounds too - I have a low strength (73) centers with 99 block, they are much worse at blocking than my center with strength. Im assuming more bumps and animation changes from strength helps a TON. On the low strength, I get a lot of swiping through ball/body even if it's super close to the ball, whereas a higher strength seems to actually hit the ball a lot more. I've only made 6'11 - 7'3, so take this how you want. If you want to make a build best for blocking, 7'2-7'3 is not going to be great due to speed/agility so very little chasedowns compared to shorter. I wouldnt recommend wasting 99 block for these heights since good positioning is most of your battle at these heights. 6'11-7'1 is great for chasedown blocking and stationary blocking. You can move around quickly enough to get good animations. For you super sweats, if you are able to get 80+ mid/three and 70+ speed, you can get the takeover Make It Rain which gives you a +7 speed. This will make you a crackhead on chasedowns and rebounds Edit: This doesnt mean shorter arms is always better for more blocks, just better jumps. You can also get another takeover called Slice, which boosts your agility and speed +7 if you get 85 dunk and 70 speed/agility but is limited to to 6'11 and shorter

I don’t think strength matters for blocking shots, I have 2 6’11s with 88 block and 80 vert, I’ve got blocks on back scratchers from centers with 99 strength while I have 75, I think timing matters the most, also which kind of block you try (holding R2 when you block makes it more aggressive)

@tjsoko1528 күн бұрын
I know you mentioned in the video and your replies to others that the boost is too small for sweet spots, but you only tested based on 99/25 or 25/99 block/vert thresholds. It could be possible that vert gives a greater boost depending on what your block rating is (For example 70 vert might get 20% more blocks than 60 vert with a 90 block rating, but 80 vert only gets 5% more blocks). You also are not hitting any of the block animation thresholds with that low of a vertical. If you get better block animations from having a higher vertical, I would think you at least need a certain amount of block rating to unlock those too. I think it would tell a lot more if they are tested in conjuction. Further, it could be like with rebounds where it increases the distance from where you can block in which it would provide a significant boost. You should test to see if different levels of vert paired with the same block can block the same shot from a further distance.

What we really wanna know is for smaller guards who can put minimal interior d and block is it worth putting like 78 interior d and 40 block or 60 interior and 60 block. What gives you more chance to make opponents miss at the rim. I know im on a small build i rarely get blocks anyway but does having like 60 block help you get better jump animations to increase the chance to contest the shot.
