@@eddiemartinez6510What a great collection of stories about collaboration and the technology from my favorite time of music, and I and I feel very privileged that Robert Palmer was my first concert way back in the day , in Minneapolis MN Orpheum Theater in 1985 or 1986 ? It must have been all the Jerry Garcia Band & Grateful Dead shows from 1990 - 94 that is possibly the reason for my current memories being less than perfect but I wouldn't change anything other than not seeing more shows, but I will get by!!!

I hope this doesn’t offend, but I just love how well-spoken Eddie is. He had an unexpectedly sophisticated vocabulary!
@Old-Skull.
@Old-Skull. Жыл бұрын
Why this should offend anyone ? Is that possible that we have reached a point in our values system that pointing a positive characteristic of a person has become insulting or offending ? If someone is offended for that matter, just can be, in my opinion the ignorants, because even the people who have the terrible misfortune of being illiterate, appreciate people that is well spoken and educated. My Grandmother was illiterate and she loved hearing people well spoken , I always remember fondly to my Grandma mesmerised watching on tv or hearing in the radio people talking about things she didn't understand completely , and when you ask her if she really understood the matter this people in the radio were talking about , she simply answered no that what she liked was to hear them talk. She admired in those well spoken people everything that had been denied to her. Needles to say that my Grandmother didn't have to go to school to influence other people around her to be better human beings . Que Dios bendiga tu alma. Remember that the ignorant is not the person who can't acces to education , that's illiteracy, the ignorant is the one who having access to education dismisses it due to laziness, ignorance, fashion or other reasons An illiterate without going to school can be a smart person but an ignorant that goes to school is still an ignorant . Please Dustin don't think I'm an AH that lives and loves lecturing ppl, no I'm not better or worse than anyone else, and of course your comment didn't offend me quite the opposite, I suppose you are a very considerate person who respect other ppl and to me that is one characteristic that defines what a good person is. I know what you are trying to say or I think I do. In this day and age we really don't know if what we say is offensive or not, I think a good way to measure that is just common sense but I think too that is important to talk about these things because good values are always a positive thing and there should be no doubt about it. Hugs 🤗 🤗

Hey Mason, thanks for having Eddie on your channel and also thanks for all the other session players you’re hosting. Ever since I started playing in the early 80s, I’ve been attracted to the use of guitar in pop music, especially music of that era where the guitar wasn’t the main focus and the songs were not necessarily riff-based. The players were allowed to experiment with textures, sounds and all sorts of really neat parts that lifted the song and didn’t scream for the spotlight. Eddie’s playing is a good example of this.

What a great interview and a player in Eddie Martinez. I had no idea he was such a prolific player and I loved hearing about his work with Robert Palmer and Steve Winwood, especially since Back in the High Life is one of my all time favorite albums. I also enjoyed the Run DMC stories and glimpse into Eddie's video appearance. Great storytelling, so thank you to you both.

@@eddiemartinez6510 what? Omg that's insane, more details please? Eddie, love your work and so glad you finally sat down to break down some of the iconic songs you rocked on. Hey, another question...on Addicted at the end of the chorus after the solo There a short crazy Floyd Rose harmonic/tremolo action, was that the Hamer? Thank you.
