Thanks for all the great information Mr. Massie! My quick question for you is: Why can't I plant the seed directly into a tower or wall garden in the same way we might in a typical vertical stack and achieve the same result? The reason I ask is because I have almost completed my design and build to include 2 x 55-gallon drums, using just enough cheesecloth to prevent the seed from falling through the net pot and a standard neoprene collar to protect it from too much light (and the elements). Thanks in advance!

Tower garden uses seedlings. However, it seems you are doing something different.

What is that white fluffy stuff at 9:00? Do you sprout the seeds directly in the grow cup? I see other people with separate germinators.

It's a 1-inch thick fish pond filter pad cutup into 1.5-inch squares. One of my secret seed pads to use, cheap too.
