@UnfiItered4 жыл бұрын
Anywhere inside the pier head, just have to mark them on the fish finder before you start fishing. If you're just randomly jigging and there's no fish, you ain't catching fish.

This is an awesome video, well done. I have been hoping to fish Lake Michigan to troll salmon but hard to find a weekend with nice calm waves. I have a boat about the same size as yours - looks like you have it setup to troll for salmon as well. jigging for them seems like a great alternative to trolling, if only it was that effective year round!

If you don't mind me asking, where about is this? I've wanted to try on my bass boat, but I don't wanna sink it in the great lakes trying, but where you are looks calm! Excellent fish though! :D
@austinherbert34172 жыл бұрын
I’m not going to spot drop where exactly that’s at but what I will tell you is that you can jig for salmon like this at the mouth of rivers, between piers, and any harbor that gets a salmon run. You wouldn’t have to run out onto the big lake at all and there’s quite a few guys who do it from bass boats.
@charlesronk29892 жыл бұрын
I plan to be one of those bass boats. Lol This is a dream of my sons and mine to tie into these kings on some light tackle. Well we have 30lb test braid on bass fishing bait cast rods. We went last weekend but were way to early. We will try again further north at the end of the month.

Damn that looks like fun!!! sick video guys. I have to say though, you can't be pulling them out of the water for that long and laying them on the carpet if you intend to release them. Once the slime gets rubbed off, they're bound to end up with infections/wounds...it's definitely not the right way to catch and release.
@Chiefz4 жыл бұрын
Mitch Hatfield I agree. My hen was harvested so I wasn’t as concerned, but the first fish was foul hooked and we could’ve definitely done better. We were playing for keeps because we needed eggs. I’ll be more mindful moving fwd

No it's not but I'm not going to say where it is on you tube. Thanks for releasing them bro! 🤘Me and the wife love to fish steelhead and salmon and we strictly release them even though people look at us crazy but I feel people need to conserve these fish more than they do to protect the numbers we've been fishing the pier constantly there but haven't smacked anything yet hopefully soon though!
@Chiefz4 жыл бұрын
Taylor Holz trust me I get heckled for it whenever people see me let them go! I ended up keeping 1 fish in this video for the use of skein so I could catch salmon in the rivers. Outside of that I’d argue 95%+ of my fish are caught and release strictly for fun. I admire your approach heavily. Thanks for watching 👍🏽👍🏽
@taylorholz9114 жыл бұрын
@@Chiefz man forget other people if it's the right thing to do then it is instead of some super ego crap of carrying your fish off the pier I get feeding your family here and there and respect that but some people do it just to do it and that pisses me off these fish have to start being protected and appreciated more unless we won't see them nearly as often unfortunately.
