Hi! Could you please help me to sole the following problem? 3. A spring and mass system with a mass of 2.5 kg is observed to have a frequency of 5.5 Hz. What is the stiffness constant of the spring? Thank You.

Use frequency =1/2pix square root of m/k

What happens if we took Vertical Spring block System In Space With g=0 then as per T=2π√l/g then time period is equal to 0 but In Same Space as per T=2π√m/k what is Time period??

can u pls use normal denomination as in SI system...like you use y for vertical displacement and then mix it with l and use alpha for acceleration...this is too confusing,,,, why cannot u use xzero and x to shown initial vs final state... and who uses alpha for acceleration???...by this way you will start using gamma and theta for length etc...

It is all about signs and conventions. Here we do not consider the Cartesian co-ordinate signs and conventions. So then that way, the acceleration would be opposite to (mg) always

Resultant force taken into account in 2nd and 3rd case is not right.

Why not explain from the eq. of motion and write the frequency naturally arising from the math of the problem. Also why not say that we end up with an eqn. where the 2nd derivative of a function equals itself (x some coefficient) and say that a harmonic function satisfies this diff. eqn. and this choice of solution also satisfies the physics of the problem.
