(16)(-45)... You may solve the quadratic using any method you wish. In the video I use the "X method". There are a few videos that can show you the details of that method and why it works if you wish.

y does the value of acceleration due to gravity is -4.9? y is it negative? y does the internet gave me the value of acceleration due to gravity in meters is 9.8m/s2? which two of those is the real value of acceleration due to gravity? -4.9 or 9.8?

I know this is probably too late, but it is negative because it is pulling the object "down". Gravity is -9.8, but there is some pre-calc/calc level math in here that cuts the gravity in half (-4.9) because of how they came up with this equation. So the internet is right with -9.8, but for the position equation we use -4.9. Someone smarter can explain if they want.
