Pp farming is very fun if you do it in moderation and stray away from newer trashy maps, usually once I lose motivation to do it I just play a variety of maps and mods.

I felt my left hand the moment level 7 was brought up. 2 years ago I got a pretty bad case of hand pain and my stamina basically died from 230bpm deathstreams to not having stamina for short 160bpm streams in 2 months. The following 2 years were spent trying to see if I could get back, but it never really happened and I ended up with pain from regular keyboard use. Never really got past 190 bpm deathstreams in that time. Nowadays Ill occasionally launch the game and either play with switched hands or mouse only which obviously doesn't make me any better at the game, but not setting scores is expected for the times I do play now. I absolutely won't be able to play normally again for my hands sake, so guess that's as far as I can go. 1841 ranked hours (probably 3000 total offline + mcosu)/4621 pp

I think shifting away from the skill set ur best at is the best way to quit pp addiction. Been working on streams for around 2 years since the jump rework(i still suck 90%< acc on 5-6 star stream maps), i stopped farming pp and stopped caring about pp. now i only play maps for the songs and try mapping other songs that are nice but there isnt a beatmap for it yet for me to enjoy.

unironically, the first time I played osu was not when I had the most fun during osu, but it's actually more recently that I've began to have more fun, since at the beginning I had to learn how to play with a healthy mindset and have reasonable expectations, while also enjoying pushing my limits. I do not think that addiction is directly proportional to skill in the majority of cases, although I'm no data scientist, so I could be wrong, either way, I think osu is really just as addicting as other not that addictive games (if we wanted to talk about the real addictive stuff, well, there's genshin and league)

Having just hit level three with 24h playtime and joining one month ago, im hoping that bc i play lazer only, i dont get too addicted to getting PP. i got mad cause i lost 90pp inexplicably (the math doesn’t add up, it’s very weird, ive done my due dilligence) from the scorev2 update a few days ago but i just want to hit 5 digit on lazer (very ez, only like 520pp) but thats just bc i wanna have a profile that looks somewhat decent to someone who’s only played for 10 minutes This comment is a time capsule for when i inevitably end up at level 4+ and laugh at past me

This is a can be any level, but if you confident with your knowledge of patterns, type of jumps or design of relying to knowledge of maps you are always played and other stuff you are empasize to that - that not to be long of your starting of your way of mapper, but that can happen for some reasons: Firstly, you are dissapointed of your progress in game and you cannot quit, cause you don't know what to do after. Secondly, you are "washed up" of playing game and you want to search for something else in game, whats you can find more interesting than "clicking circles". There is many ways come to this ones all of this, but this need to long to think upon and recalculate all of that methods and all variations of how to start this way, and that alike so long recaluclate that, so i don't want to do the craziestly-longest post of that. I think you understood.

Verto, what level am I? Haven't played osu seriously since 2016 and quit 2017. But I quit because I can't really play anymore due to IRL stuff, not because I wanted to. Still my mind is thinking about osu every day, wondering what rank I would be if I never quit. Still listening to songs and tap my fingers to the beat and imagine a map that doesn't exits. Still watching top players and rooting for Mrekk and hoping for an aetrna challenging him for the pp records going back and forth. Level 9 is when you played the game so long, and you are exposure all of difficulties of another lvls and lvl of enjoy gaming to that thing you are realize - you can play further, but you addicted to self-burning emotions and starting to expression self through playing this game, you are understand - that you can easly quit the game, anytime, but you are realize - if you quit, you lose all of your progress and your cause of experience of this game, cause you are playing it so much and this the only thing can you on and exist on this game, cause you are cannot enjoy game a like from beggining of your way, you are no farming pp how you are does that at your level 1 - 3 at all, you are not communicate with peoples anymore, cause of amount of toxic and unrespect in your side, cause you don't farm pp and don't listen the "tips to getting better", and you just doesn't can understand, how are you can playing this game alone, so long time, but with that, easly continue to follow the news and other stuff and whats going on in community currently, (if i said of myself - i started played the game 9 YEARS ago, so i can write about that and judge of myself to create this level of addiction), but you feel totaly isolated from community, but still, enjoying own progress to game, and share only with some friends you have in-game or in other games, no matter, or who played osu recently. And you are close to the edge of quitting of game completely, but you can't. Your hand had aches, but you still can play on this game, you still listen the music, you still... still a human after all of this hell of burning out of emotions yourself alone, and you realise that after ALL of this levels of addiction - you can't play this forever even "if you here forever". So i mark the lvl 9 to be like - a burning out the emotions but continue playing the game at all costs.
