I cannot express in words how much I love this song it's so perfect and beautiful and very sad at the same time. You can tell Nina and Louise but a lot of emotion and remanence a lot about their past in the song

favorite song off the album (and it was hard to pick) but it's just a fantastic song, the music drifting in and out, and the final phrase just cuts your heart strings and drop a dagger of ice into your belly. Gives me chills in such an enjoyable way.

Time flies and I can't keep up All the years I have to sweep up Late at night I'm in my bed and in my head And the feelings start to creep up Remember how we used to dress up You're beautiful until you're messed up Take a picture 'cause I think we're losing light This is how we say goodbye, it's how we say goodnight Banging my head against a wall of sound Wall like a love it brings me to the ground We surf the crowd, oh we will not go down I don't want to drown if you're not drowning with me copy paste from aotr sucks Late December when we're waking There's an unfamiliar aching By the way you held my hand, held my heart I didn't notice it was breaking This is how you say goodbye It's how you say goodnight My head cracks open and the stage goes black I count to sixty and I meet you in the back I can't stop gushing, I'm a hemophiliac I don't wanna bleed if you're not bleeding with me We count the stars but we can't bring them down It's mistake union it's buzzing all around Eight more hours and I'm leaving town I don't wanna leave if you're not leaving with me I don't wanna breathe if you're not breathing with me Love is over, it's over and you can't go back When you're older, you just keep telling yourself that The door is open, even if it's just a tiny crack Up at night and wandering Love is over, it's over and you can't go back When you're older, you just keep telling yourself that The door is open, even if it's just a tiny crack Up at night and wandering Up at night and wandering

Stunned by this song, and by this band's return. Each cut has been better than the last. If the entire album is like this, it's going to be a Veruca Salt summer for me in '15.

EmilieSagae agreed, sum is greater than parts with them musically. Nina is too sweet without Louise (who im guessing pens most of the songs) but Nina has the voice ... clear as a bell.

its intriguing how their sound changed for this album. its got more of a polished, modern sound to it. its a little over compressed but with that said, this is KZbin and everything sounds Squashed. but all the same it is a well written, recorded album. this song being my favorite one. the chorus is just out of this fucken world. very happy for the band to be touring again. hope they make it to Boston. I've never seen them before and just recently became a fan even though I remember when they first broke in the early 90's. great job on this new album.

I love this track - possibly the best track on Ghost Notes... To me at least, this sums up that 15 years - 1998 to 2013 - of 'pain'... While we can never get that 15 years back (and I often wonder what would have been if things didn't go sideways), at least we have this track and this album... Even if VS never records again (which I hope is NOT true), it's a pretty cool way to round out the Saga of one of the Greatest Bands of the 1990's!

P.S. VS are one of my favorite '90s bands. That was, for me, a magical time in music.
@milleisgod89109 жыл бұрын
+WonkaVator72 To me, the 90's were an awful time for music. For most metal heads it was that way. Mainstream music became almost non-existent, alternative rock became the mainstream and a lot of metal bands were forced into that awful grunge movement started by Seattle bands that I'll not name but am happy they are gone. I listen to a lot of 90's music NOW, even though I still am a metal head at age 43. My favorite 90's bands are Veruca Salt, Smashing Pumpkins, Lush, Radiohead, and the Cranberries. It was all simply a hatred towards the music industry for me, though. Record execs were forcing metal bands (one was one of my favorites, a Seattle metal band called Sanctuary. Their record execs simply told them to turn to grunge, or lose their record contract. They voted on it and came up with a 3 to 2 vote....so they broke up. It was all political). Now though, I enjoy a lot of 90's music. It just came too late for me. Music is ART, and there is no place for politics in art. I'm just glad that grunge is gone. This newest Veruca Salt release is probably my most favorite. It is great they got back together. Lush is doing the same, albeit in a touring capacity only for the moment. If 72 is your year of birth, you are my age and you lived through what I talked about. everyone seems to love the music from their 20's. My point is that since music was being politicized, you probably would have thought anything that radio stations threw at you in the 90's was "magical". In my opinion, the 80's were better and music since the 90's is much better, especially when it comes to my favorite genre which is metal. "Like what makes your ears happy. Don't let anyone tell you what to listen to, especially me". That is just a motto of mine. Did you like Lush in the 90's? If you didn't, check them out, They are more shoegaze/brit-pop/dream pop with a lot of psychedelic sound, but like Veruca Salt, they have 2 girls handling the vocals and guitars...which to me is 100% hot.

+MilleIsGod The fact that you claim to like Metal but dislike the grunge movement as a whole is hysterical to me. Alice in Chains? Give me a break, dude. That said, love this band.

Good song overall.....shows much maturity from VS. Kinda Liz Phair-ish… IMO... the song should be re arranged to start from the 400 mark, cause this part is one of the most beautiful harmonies ever by VS,(reminds of classic Smashing Pumpkins)...then it should bring in that AWESOME bass line from the beginning and somehow weave the lyrics from the beginning into the same structure as the 400 outro... As for the chorus....its ok but could be taken down a notch in intensity to maintain overall sense of serenity?? melancholy??
