Internal strife, artistic differences and an unwillingness to take second bill on larger tours all lead to a 12 year hiatus, until Nina convinced Louise to come back. They missed their window to skyrocket when Lilith Fair Tour was in it's heyday. Too bad, really, because they are REALLY good! First two albums (American Thighs, Eight Arms to Hold You) are still their best work, although this comes close.

Ha ha that is totally incorrect re: second fiddle on larger tours. As for Lilith Fair - they wouldn't have had a band as heavy as Veruca Salt on the line up. Nina did however do her solo thing for the snooze-fair.

One thing I've always been impressed with is Veruca salts guitar sound. their harmony's have always been one of the things that have attracted me to their music but their guitar sound is just amazing. this has to do with not only the choices of Nina and Louise set up but also the producer/engineers who are recording them. I am really impressed with the sound of this new album Ghost notes. great raw sound.

Veruca's lyrics are way cooler than most people think. Ghost Notes has 3 killer tracks as of one listen. Their first album had two and and then 7 more that grew on me. With the lack of real rock bands, this record is at least good enough to Garner top 10 of the last decade. Girl Power!

This record is good. Some of the best rock music of the last 10 years was made by two chicks in their 40s, (and a nice rhythm section of two dudes in their 40s.) More proof that 90s music was always the best. And Girl Power!

Love it! I'm definitely going to pre-order this cd on payday. I know it will be great. All of the recent songs I've heard are good, but uptempo. I sure hope there are some of their trademark haunting ballads on the cd, too. Louise Post kept the band carrying on, whilst Nina Gordon bitched around. Her solo effort was pathetic AOR. Without Nina V.S still kicked ass. It's pretty cool the band which no one really took seriously in their heyday is still around.

Even when they were blowing up they were at least able to capatitalize on thuer succ4s but yeah ever since they split up they pretty much disappeared entirely from the audience and are know by die hard alt rock fans/listeners
