Since then I've been working hard to start bringing my ideas to life and it's fkin awesome

no its the death or culling of unimaginative artists that are too dumb to learn a new skill. This happened 30 years ago in the photography world when photoshop came out. The clients heard that any photo can be altered to look anyway they want and when older stubborn photographers refused to learn photoshop, they were replaced by the younger ones who simple picked it up and used it. This is already happening now. Artists are losing jobs hand over fist right now and its not to AI, its to OTHER ARTISTS using AI. Keep not using it, more work for those of us who are.
@apollofell3925Күн бұрын
@@Ronin2079 It's just cute the way you AI bros act like you're taking anything but the least fufilling work from artists and putting out anything half as intersting to people who truly appreciate art. AI fiction isn't interesting. AI art doesn't evoke any deeper meaning. AI music has no texture or subtlety. You're all completely helpless when the power goes out. Even photoshop artists can make things the old fashioned way. There are no shortcuts in good art and a computer will never elevate you past mediocrity.

Coming from a person in film, specifically in audio, there is SO MUCH that we use AI (or tech that is currently being lumped into the marketing umbrella term) that helps everyone so much. AI noise reduction is a godsend and has been used for a good few years now. In terms of VFX, AI rotoscoping helps alleviate by far the most arduous, miserable job in post-production. The best thing about these tools is that they help get rid of the cleanup work that gets in the way of doing the more fun parts of ones job. But no boardrooms would rather use AI to fart out IP screenplays and force title artists out of the job. We are so close. Chris Crawford said in his "Dragon Speech" that there are three kinds of audiences: Casuals, Critics, and Connoisseurs. He suggested that artists ignore casuals as they aren't concerned with much else than surface level entertainment, and also to ignore critics unless you're aiming for whatever the equivalent of Oscar Bait is in your medium. He encouraged people to aim for connoisseurs as they will appreciate your love of the medium AND be happy to communicate with you about what they think (sometimes too happy), which helps you grow as an artist. I think that something the big entertainment companies have learned from the success of the "live action" Disney remakes (among other things) is that the casual audience doesn't care about quality - they dump billions of dollars into literal brain rot garbage then forget about what they experienced, ready for the next. AI "art" is aiming for the casual audience. The connoisseurs and critics can scream into the void all they want - this is for wasteful consumption and nothing further.

10:30 more importantly, it’s the idea that there were a series of *decisions* being made at a level that belies clear intention on a group of creators collaborating together. “AI” as it exists now is just pulling a slot machine over and over again until you get the sequences you want - that’s how the math behind LLMs and and Neural Networks function, even if the entropy behind it is eventually guided. It still can’t guarantee an answer that the user wants dictated by the prompt. To rely on the LLM to make the decision for the user is a recipe for shoddy work at best, and a sort of anti-art at worst.

I am an Artist. Anyone thinking selling art is a "get rich quick" tactic has never tried making a living as an Artist, nor spoken to one who is, on any meaningful level. I chose this career and am not complaining about "being an Artist". I LOVE being an Artist! Even when it is hard, which is most of the time. Sure, SOME Artists get rich (1%). Most don't. Some people exploit loopholes or fads, but that doesn't last. I like creating, but financially stable it is not (for myself and every Artist I know). I have my opinions on AI, but this video summed it up pretty well. In my 4 1/2 decades on Earth, I have seen people claim credit for others work many times. It never lasts because it isn't real. No one gets out of the WORK required to EARN skills. Filmmaking is one of the most difficult paths out there. It is amazing these projects get made at all and even more amazing if it all comes together and works in the end due to all the hands and minds involved! I respect it. I am not going to say prompting a film is "wrong"...just don't get mad when you can't copyright something you didn't make and/or you get clowned on for it because it is not impressive because literally ANYONE can do it. 🪙🪙

Considering a lot of producers and directors nowadays aren’t great at reading drawn storyboards/animatics, that AI generated sequence at the beginning of the video would answer a lot of questions for pre-production. Sure it’s rough but you can at least get approvals to go actually film the sequence! Not a fan of AI but that’s a useful use case.

I don't think there's any hope of stopping it. In another few years, "movies" will be churned out at the same insane pace that "songs" can be churned out by AI. And we'll be awash in garbage. I mean much of social media already is. And as it gets better and better visually, we won't be able to tell. That's going to happen. Traditional film may hold out for a bit, but once the best AI systems can create a visually indistinguishable movie, the industry is finished. The costs will be so much lower, the producers will have to switch. Now with MUSIC, the real thing is still relatively cheap and easy to create. A few people with basic equipment and skill can do it in a garage. But film requires the work of hundreds of people over years, at a cost of many millions. It's a profoundly inefficient system that only produces maybe 1% of the scripts or fewer. If creators can instead just create digital storyboards and let the AI fill it in, why would they go through that?

It’s so depressing that ai is taking all of the creative jobs and capitalism doesn’t let artists to just do art just for fun. You either have to sell your art, or you don’t have enough time to make art, due to working yourself so exhausted that even if you had free time you’d be too exhausted. I always wanted to paint and draw as my career but due to capitalism not validating those things at all, I chose to go study to become a fashion designer or a textile worker. But sadly even those jobs are threatened by capitalism thanks to fast fashion. I’m afraid that after getting my textiles and fashion degree, I’d still need to take out my old hygiene license from my wallet and get myself a job from the restaurant or fast food industries, so I won’t be in fear of not having enough money for food or healthcare. Btw I don’t even like in America. I live in Finland and even here, our government is favoring private healthcare and a bar of chocolate is over 4 euros
