Installed these on a riding mower kzbin.infoUgkxetgfkJxfdT_B2vGYP-uNTLaBbim9OKTD . They were sharp out of the box, although I've never liked blade edges that were coated...not quite as sharp as I personally want. Using my belt sander, I removed the coating from the cutting edges and refined the edge enough to shave with them. So far, after three runs, these blades are holding up as expected. Even after hitting a few fallen 1/2 inch or so branches, the edges are still sharp as heck. No edge dings, no warping, etc. As far as installing them, the cutouts were of the proper size and shape to fit my aging Craftsman mower. Very satisfied.

I must admit that I was very relieved to see that you posted. I saw the news about the flooding in Germany and I thought about the river where you put the lovely benches and wondered if your home and shop were close to a river or stream. PLEASE be safe! A lot of people would be flat out heartsick if something happened to you, your wonder dog, and your friends. I saw people driving on the streets where here there would be notices saying turn around DON'T drown! Some guy was paddling in a boat that was teeny and using an equally ridiculous paddle. YIKES!! You are good people. I'd cry my face off. So glad you are alive!

Fantastic…Dear Laura I have been obsessed with metamorphic furniture for 20 + years. Especially tables! I have made many many height adjustable using old office chairs / stools /Belly Boards etc and height adjustable walking sticks. Always I use things that have had another life 😊. Hence I loved your saying in your last video….”Imagine a world…” you know the one. The quote is now pyrographed across many of my home made campervan ideas. To take the wobble out of the hitch I drill a hole in the corner of the hitch tube. Then weld a nut so a bolt will push the hitch up to the opposite 2 sides. This also stops hitch rattling while going down the road. This also keeps the hitch from getting stolen if the thief doesn't know about the bolt. Make sure the hole behind the pin on the corner directed diagonally.

I like that you make weird concepts or try things just for the sake of trying it. I recently delved into a project after thinking about it for ages and finally just did it. I'm also currently trying to actually get a workshop (so I don't have to work on my workbench in my livingroom anymore) and watching people like you for years inspired me to really do stuff myself and work with what I have (mostly room constraints) and just making it work somehow. Thank you! You're such an inspiration and I enjoy watching everything you build, doesn't matter if it works or doesn't in the end.

Add a little stick-on bullseye level to the hitch mount maybe...not necessary, but a bit faster than levelling the table by eye when standing over it at an awkward angle. Very cool project. If my little old pickup truck didn't already have a tail gate at table top height, I'd totally copy this.

I WANT THAT TABLE!! We NEED this table! Sure it's good for camping, but right now, with Covid, we are not wanting to go into anywhere, I don't care how good the food is, it isn't worth dying for! Many places do not have outside tables, If we had this, we could make our own dinning area. Last month we went to a super nice place up in the hills over looking the Northern California coast, and we ate in our truck. There were redwood trees all around us and it was beautiful, this table would have made the night so much nicer.

Love the fact that your not afraid to weld or try different concepts. As a welder I would suggest using gloves melanoma or skin cancer can be a real bad thing and while I believe you have a choice for yourself you also have a slight obligation to your followers the future makers that may neglect proper protection and possibly hurt themselves because they overlooked it as well. What if you made a direct attached hitch table would remove some of the ball or socket wobble and might be able to make it out of wood for some weight reduction and tigher tollerances hitches have some wiggle room as well or I would use a adjustable height style that uses bolts to have a vertical flat starting point

Such an interesting hitch coupler! Our hitch receiver system here in the North America is very welder friendly so we come up tools and gadgets all the time to attach to our vehicles. Maybe check with you steel supplier and see if they carry, what we here call DOM tubing (i.e. no weld seem on the interior), it allows you to slide tubing into one another with ease. Mad respect for effort put into your prototype!

I like to go in my garden, too, but best is if I can use my tooles to create e.g. a wardrobe or so for nishes no normal - to buy - wardrobe fits in, to make walk in - wardrobes and special furnitures for all my tools I bought for my wooden works. You could displace me near a „tool - and market for diy- things“ and I had to do for hours, just to see what is new, what I could use some day and what is there but I don't need. Loved to see you working with wood. You're great.

The table is beautiful. Suggestion to stop the wobbling: attached a metal plate to bottom of table, then bolt the arms to the metal plate and table. The wood oil looks interesting. It enhances the grain and brings out the natural color of the wood. I hope to find it here in Canada.

Forgot to comment earlier... great looking table top... love the finish, and the slots will keep the weight down and allow easy clean up. Could also be used to help transport items that don't fit in the van to where you are going by attaching a small box on top. I see potential in most of your ideas, but I think a LOT of people would be interested in this. Maybe even add a folding leaf once you master the stability. Thanks again for a great start to my Sunday, and the rest of the week

Excellent idea. If you ever want to revisit a collapsible table with legs, perhaps consider bracing wires. Have a look at early biplanes, like from ww1. Some simple string is extremely strong when under tension yet is very lightweight. Thin wooden legs are strong enough to hold the table up but not to resist the sideway forces... Combine the two and you get something lightweight and strong.

Supper cool idea! I think you could drop the weight by building your own hitch clamp. Perhaps a vise like device with cupped jaws that you zip on with an impact or drill. Personally I think think I may give the a try, but make the arms longer for more options to sit or stand while working off the back of my trailer.

I would say if you ARE building another version it should go even lower so if you need to open the doors you don’t have to completely clear off the table for the doors to be able to swing. Right now it clears the table when down but the doors would pretty much sweep the whole table off. I do like that the ball mount could accommodate for the van not sitting on level ground.
