Thank you so much for this fantastic video! I followed someone else's video for the ribbed hat. I've made 4 and I've not been 100% happy with them. Watching your video I now see why. You have given a more clear and easy to understand explanation with a perfect follow along demonstration. You explained the stitches as they were used. As far as anyone complaining about not knowing the next step, you were very clear when you said to finish continuing exactly the same as the rows we just did. All anyone has to do is rewind the video if they aren't sure or start over and fast forward. We can't expect you to do everything for us. 😁 Thank you again and keep up the great work! This was the first video I watched of yours but I've subscribed to all now because you really are good! Happy 2023!

So, I'm a beginner when it comes to crocheting and it took me quite some time but I finished my hat in one day. I used 1 1/2 balls of chunky wool (by Amigo) and a crochet needle in size 7,00. The rest of the wool I used for a fluffy pompom, so cute:) I'll definitely make one again. The tutorial was easy to follow and I really enjoyed the simplicity of the instructions and the hat itself. Great job:)

I love working in the back loop only to create a ribbed effect! (I've made fingerless mitts using the same technique, and they looked so cushy and warm when they were done!) I also often work into the back loops only on the foundation row, as Line was doing, since the chain stitches of the foundation chain are often tighter than one would think, and therefore it's very difficult to work the hook under both of the top loops of the foundation chain stitches (leaving just the "back bumps" unworked). Closing up the top of this hat looks like the same way one would close up a hat made on a circular knitting loom. Looks like a very easy hat, and a little bit fancier than the plain beanies I typically crochet!

@@otakugamer6657 how many rows do you crochet for a 14 year old? I measured her head and did the chain & stitches, but I’m not clear how many rows to crochet.
@otakugamer6657 Жыл бұрын
@@debbiekoenig1572 Hi Debbie, so from what I understand you first make your foundation chain the length from measuring the top of your head and as far down to your ears if you want it (remember to make it longer if you’d like a little folded ribbed edge like Line has in the video). Then you just crochet as many rows as it takes to be able to reach all the way around your head. My tip would be to measure the circumference of your head and then crochet as many rows as you need to reach that measurement. I hope this helps 😊

This tutorial needs a little more explanation for a beginner. I would suggest doing row 3 & 4 x 1 repeat so the beginner knows how to proceed . My friend who is a beginner had no idea how to go on to row 3. She needed the instructions to start the row ie. chain 2 up & where to place the first stitch. Also need to be explicit about crocheting in the back loop for 3rd row (as it wasn’t done in row 1) & you said it is a 2 row repeat. Just saying because a beginner needs this extra info.
