Brandon Propst No, its for down force. Because civics are very front end heavy the back tends to not have very much grip at times. Its where the spoiler plays in.

Very rare to see a honda moded for track like this, very skilled driver im assuming this guy has professional driving under his belt, not just self tought. Probably one of the only Honda vids you'll come across that isnt ruined by a bunch of amateurs drag racing on public streets with their junkers. Great Vid!

Its not about downforce on the drive wheels. Its about the car having negative lift at high speed. You don't want your car having lift entering a long sweeping corner at over 100mph.

I will vouch for it working. Very nicely built car and driving man. Looks so fun; must be a blast to drive. From take off, you climbed through the gears extremely fast and went into sixth in no time. Sounds amazing too!

hondas are super light in the rear in fact even with the massive wing you can still see the car lifting a rear tire around a hard turn. moreover, it keeps the rear of the car well planted at high speeds and weight distribution closer to even. Id say the wing on this car helps out with handling quite a bit

It prevents spinning when diving hard on the brakes for sharper and more controllable turn-in. This helps with being able to lay down more power earlier through the front wheels because it dampers the potential need for countersteer before the apex.

thats why you set the car up to oversteer (as any fwd can be set to do) through spring rates, sway bar sizes, alignment, tires and pressures, then to keep the oversteer and make it usable and safe add downforce to both front and back.
