Holy freaking hell!! A lunge, a pounce, and a triple roar from Diego! Michael, you must have balls of steel to stand your ground in front of that monstrous roar. Diego is magnificent I got to say that, and if that guy that was walking behind the wall heard that, I don’t think he would be standing very much longer because he probably would’ve passed out from fear and terror!! @@petercoxable I'm still very much invested in this channel, Peter - I'm wholeheartedly supportive of Michael & Jackie in everything they do for their animals, as despite all of the criticism that they've had to endure - no one knows their animals better than they do and how to take the very best care of them. As for where we are, you'll be so pleased to know that I've been too unwell with a prolonged illness to stay up until 3am for the Lives - especially not three nights a week..it's just not suitable for me in this condition. But it was always Michael's intention to allow other devoted members with a suitable temperament to take a turn at moderating anyway. Tracy Llewellyn is busy with her career & family, and Forge the Steel is busy concentrating on his High School studies, but they both still support the channel. All of the other original moderators are still there - even Leads the Fallen still pops in from time to time - plus there's a handful of new moderators and it's lovely to see them rewarded for their devotion & loyalty to the channel.. They've all been around at least as long as I have, and Enzo was still a young Tiger then. I love the Zoo House Community with all my heart and I was very honoured to serve as a moderator for as long as I could. The original moderators helped to foster a high standard of behaviour that is expected of participants in the Live Chats as well as in the commentary - and they were instrumental in growing a family of kind and loving friends, without trolls and nasty people.. And I was so honoured to be a small part of that. It's still in very good hands, but I just needed to step back and let someone else have a turn. But I never miss a video, and my husband and I have made plans to travel over to SA to visit the them - but that's been put on hold indefinitely until I'm feeling better. C'est la vie. I hope that satisfies your curiosity.

* Just an observation since we know animals have consciousness,, I think When Michael went in got Peaky from Diego felt intimidated, I believe he truly was sorry but he also was intimidated so the few times Diego didn’t roar during feeding was him being intimidated , so in my opinion this was Diego fighting that feeling by challenging Michael, and Mike handled it PERFECT, Calmly assuring Diego it’s his food while no showing fear but rather respect, I think Diego will feel bad and definitely still roar during feeding BUT that charge thing won’t happen , Mike truly understand what most animals owners don’t and that is respect for what they are and the mind that they have*

@FlashlightAbuse Don't confuse the terms Consciousness, Sapience, and Sentience. Animals are aware and most certainly conscious and most are Sentient. (That is to say that they experience thought and feeling) Very few animals could possibly be classified as Sapient. Aware not only of their environment but also of their own thoughts and feelings rather than simply experiencing them. (Tigers most likely are not Sapient. Diego would not be able to analyze why he's intimidated nor would he be able to reason it away. But he would be able to act on it.) Consciousness is simply the state of being aware of one's environment and responding to it. (Not a big milestone for most of the animal kingdom if we bar insects and mollusks which may act more like automatons and not even be actually aware of their environment at all.)

I believe that with all my heart, and with what I feel, Mrs. Jamison! And could a chicken have had a better life? It's simply not possible. All of these animals are so blessed to have Michael and Jackie's love and care. The alternative for many of them would be unthinkable!

I'm sorry your chicken died, but she lived her best life possible at the zoo house. There's no disrespect in feeding her to the tigers. I think it's a way of honoring her. In her death she gave sustenance to Enzo so life goes on. Diego said he knows he has 2 chickens left and you better not touch them. He means it too!

I didn't flinch. Having house cats they're unpredictable and I watch their body language. Posture, ears, eyes. So Diego didn't startle me when he went for the fence. What sounded like wheezing concerned me. Beautiful tigers by the way.

True, RKO. Few chickens ever had a better life than these at the Zoo House. I remember the very first chickens.. ALL of the animals have all been loved and cared for to perfection, and none of them would still be here were it not for Michael and Jackie's kindness and caring. They have built a magical world within these walls - and I always feel that it's quite a privilege for us to see inside their private zoo : )
