It was obvious Vivek didn’t appreciate being blind-sided like that. It took him a moment to compose himself. Interestingly, Trump did not look pleased sitting next to Vance at the RNC. His body language always speaks volumes. He barely spoke to Vance. He shook Vance’s hand LAST and AFTER he sat down. Those are not the actions of a man who is happy to see you. I don’t believe that Vance was Trump’s first choice for VP. There are no coincidences in politics and there is something off about this entire situation.

Should have pick Rubio. He'll help with the Latino votes. A VP should be someone who not necessarily have to share the same ideas but to broaden your base and attract moderates. He was one of the 3 finalists in the Primaries back in 2016 and has a sizeable base of moderates who likes him.
