Gladys was not a drunk!
@apriltorres3684

Gladys was a alcoholic and as hard as that's to hear it's the truth. Now how much did Gladys drink each day or what type of alcohol she used hasn't been mentioned in any books or videos. I can picture her as a mellow maybe even more shy when she would drink. The drinking and the taking of sleeping pills along with diet pills caused her to contract Hepatitis C and along with her bad heart she died. Elvis was never the same and he died a very lonely man.

@@saphireblue3563 Then how did Gladys get Hepatitis ? The family does have a history of heart disease. I believe that both of Elvis's parents, himself, and perhaps his daughter Lisa Marie ( she died from small bowel obstruction brought on by a failed bariatric procedure. Yet, Lisa's heart supposedly was giving her some problems as well.) I don't know why anybody would feel the need to lie about Gladys drinking. Although I never knew her I would have loved to have been in the company of this great woman.

I wonder what Gladys wanted out of life? Judging by her photos she seemed very sad and depressed. Did she really just want elvis with her forever?? Not a very healthy outlook for either of them. Lots of mothers feel this way but most understand you have to let go at some point, you are supposed to raise them to stand alone. A real shame she couldn't seem to be happy.

I think things would have been much different if his mother had not passed. I believe she would have adored Priscilla. I know she liked Anita Wood a lot, but when that ended Priscilla would have done fine in the family. Priscilla reminded him so much of his mother, feature wise. I truly believe things would have been completely different.

Gladys would have not liked what Priscilla did to Elvis, Priscilla only saw money and fame for herself when she looked at Elvis, and she used Elvis for that, No I don't think Gladys would have like her at all ..Priscilla is nothing more then a gold digger and will always be just that.

If all the stories of Elvis’ over zealous attachment to Gladys are true, there’s something wrong here. He DID have a father (rival?). We’ll never know so stop stupid speculation and making comparisons. All too easy to ally yourselves with the King, he was no saint so stop deifying him and give the credit where it really belongs, in his talent, and cease making up stories to suit yourselves. In case you’re wondering, I’ve been a fan of Elvis’ for 40 years, but trust have kept things in proportion and not succumbed to self-serving unprovable and dodgy comparisons.
