Watching this series is like reading a really good book, one chapter at a time, over several years - savoring each part of the story and looking forward to the next bit. 😊

I love this simile!!! Thanks so much for following along! These take a pretty long time to edit, but they're a passion project, without a doubt! I love watching them, too, and re-living the memories! 😀

Beautiful views, the plus side to visiting popular places out of season is that you don't get crowds. You just have to deal with the weather!

So true, not crowds at all - barely any other humans that day haha! So glad we went out to explore despite the wind and drizzle!

Thanks again for a great video! Sounds as it you did not make it to the lighthouse at Cape Wrath. That’s a pity as between the ferry and the lighthouse there is a small vintage where my dad was born. His dad was the shepherd there at the time. Hope all is going well with you both.

Thanks so much Neil! Wow, no, we didn’t make it to Cape Wrath, but what a cool origin story of your father! Can you drive there, or do you have to take a ferry? It looks like that town isn’t off the nc500 road, but I’m wondering if there’s a smaller road that goes there?

We traveled the NC500 with our cousin from Cambridge some five years ago. It was summer . Even in the summer it was cold, rainy and windy. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time at Smoo Cove exploring , and Durness as well as Bettyhill. We love our fish and chips as well as our banger breakfast. Did you run into many tourists when you were there? Given the Covid situation ? Great video. Harriet and I watched it twice. Hope you guys are doing well. Sending you much love❤ from Richmond, Va. That's awesome that you've visited Smoo Cave as well! Did you get to do a cave tour while you were there? We really wish we could have visited during high season so we would have been able to see more of the cave, but I suppose we'll just have to go back! There were soooo few fellow tourists that we encountered during this trip, since at the time, there were a lot of rules to follow about who was allowed to visit the Highlands (it all depended on where they were coming from). We definitely lucked out that we got a lot of places almost all to ourselves as a result! Almost everyone else we met on this trip were Highlands locals who perhaps were exploring on their days off. And great point about weather in the Highlands - it can be the dead of summer and there will still be a lot of rain and a nip in the air. We've visited in August on a previous trip and definitely needed jackets. Layers layers layers! 😀

Your journey through the NC500 is like a captivating novel that keeps us eagerly waiting for the next chapter! Each part of the story unfolds beautifully, allowing us to savor the stunning views and experience the adventure with you. The lack of crowds during the off-season certainly adds to the charm. The Smoo Cave and Durness area are truly gems, and your video captures their beauty perfectly! 🌟🏞 The weather might be unpredictable, but it adds its own character to the journey. Have you encountered many tourists given the recent situation? Your dedication to exploring these remote areas is truly commendable. Sending you lots of love from Richmond, VA! ❤🌍

The idea that this is a "captivating novel" is so motivating! I can't wait until I get to share every chapter!!! Thanks so much for watching and tagging along 😀🙏 And I must say...there were VERY few other tourists on this trip, and we had a lot of the places mostly to ourselves.
