@QusieQ- I'm afraid you have your comments set so that I can't reply directly or tag you. You want to repeat Rows 1-4, going back to Row 1 after you've completed Row 4.

I love this stitch. I made my nephew a couple sweaters with it when he was in grade school and my sister had to literally hide them when they wore out. The kid would not stop wearing them! LOL He's 28 now. It's really easy once you get going. Thanks for this!

This is shellac polish, that I had done at the salon. The half-moon shape is actually a nude color. We shot this video several weeks ago, and now I have the same manicure again, with no nude color - just top coat showing through the half-moon shape. I think I prefer it the way I have it now!

This stitch will work for just about anything. But you will have to watch your yarn and gauge for a purse, as you would with any stitch combination. You have to be careful, because if you put heavy things in a knitted purse, they can really stretch out. Lining the purse with fabric will correct that.

I've only seen this stitch done this way, in what amounts to 2x1. But 2x2 will work fine!

Kathy - I recommend looking at patterns for kitchen towels on Ravelry, and choosing one that you like from there. That way you'll have the stitch, the yarn amounts, the finished dimensions, the cast-on number, etc. And, you'll be able to see photos of what your finished towel will look like.

"Multiple of 3 plus 1" means first choose a multiple of three. Three, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, etc. Then add 1 more. Four, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22.

I've seen the waffle stitch before, but as a 2x2 rib pattern, which I prefer because it's more reversible. Is it more common to see a 2x1 or a 2x2 rib for waffle stitch, Staci?

I have a question. In all your videos showing how to do a stitch, it says how much to cast on. But I don't get what it means like multiple of 3 plus 1. I still don't get that

hi, i can follow the instructions but row 4 is the same as row 2 do i then do row 1 then row 3 and carry on doing row 4 as row 2 thanks.
@verypinkknits

Yes - you want to work through the rows - 1, 2, 3, 4...don't let the fact that Rows 2 and 4 are the same confuse you.

Hi, I was wondering how am I able to start on the wrong side when I don't have double sided needles? Thank you for your help.
@verypinkknits
@verypinkknits 9 жыл бұрын
Melinda Hogue - double-pointed needles are absolutely not necessary for this stitch, unless you're knitting in the round. I only use them because I like to use the shortest needles possible. To start on the wrong side, just start knitting the wrong side stitches. Then that side becomes the wrong side.

Is it as simple as following 1,2,3,4 (row 4 being same as row 2) then repeating rows 1-4 until you reach desired length? Or do you skip row 1 after using it once in the beginning, and just repeat 2,3,4? Thanks, love ur videos by the way!!

QusieQ I think you have to repeat all rows until you reach your desired length.

In these Fancy Stitch Combos demonstrations, I assume that the knitter is already comfortable with the basics - like knit, purl, etc. My demonstration plus the written instructions for the stitch (available below the video in the video description field) should be enough info to get most knitters going on these stitch combinations. Sorry it wasn't for you.
