the first song i heard of eden and which made me a big fan of his was wake up the very first song i heard of him
@justmemy1banana5 жыл бұрын
So Wake Up is about him leaving Ireland to go to America but his partner doesn't want him to go and says like "stay, you're not gonna leave me etc" and Eden saying that maybe they can see each other again (fly you out someday) but he's leaving for America to pursue music, which is his dream (chasing dreams...). His partner is living their life on repeat, doing the same things each day. Partying late and waking up later (sleeping through the P.M.... sleepwalking) and Eden doesn't want that anymore. So as he's leaving Eden thinks that he hears his partner saying all these things - (almost thought I heard you say) - though without saying them at all. And the phrase "whoever said you were one in a million" is emphasized but at the end of the song Eden almost thought he heard them say "You're so much better than that." As in, Eden is so much more than one in a million to his partner. But these are all things his partner almost said and so Eden repeats the phrase "you're so much better than that" to himself because he believes that he is so much better than all those unspoken words. That's just my interpretation though.

*Crash* it's actually a song to his younger self (hence the "I'm 21 so I'm young and I'm stupid, only 16 yeah I think you should've known"). He is talking about how the decisions he made in the past became his downfall emotionally, even though he is living the dream _he_ dreamt of when he was 16. He is talking to that old self, saying how by everything he did in the past to achieve all this, he "fucked him up". All that makes the high pitch part of the song make so much more sense. Also, at the end he is talking about all the things he realized, about not being lonely anymore, and about changing to be better in the future. Will always be one of my favorites.

My interpretation of Crash is that when EDEN was younger he had a relationship with a girl that just ruined his idea of love and what he actually wanted to do
@lostartifact28985 жыл бұрын
What i think of crash is him battling depression. If you watch the official music video it makes more sense with depression.
@mandalorian14025 жыл бұрын
The story behind Crash is based on him accepting his depression. He was at a gig and saw someone sitting at the side of the stage with their head in their hands and when he went over, it was the musician that he was there to see having a breakdown from all the pressure. It’s what inspired most of Vertigo and Crash is about him trying to avoid crumbling under the pressure.

Crash is about Eden's battle with anxiety. "It's been a few years since you've been gone", a tip of the hat to a dark place that he came from. He used to eat himself up inside because he didn't think he was good enough. "I woke up today and found that you were waiting here for me, and I thought 'old friend, it's bittersweet' ". Anxiety never really leaves, not completely. And if you watch any interview with Eden you'll notice that he's quite reserved, a little nervous. He's a really anxious guy. And he touched on the meaning behind Crash in an interview before, stating that the 'duet' thing he did was just him talking to himself. The high pitch voice being the voice in the back of his head, telling him he's "not who you think you are" and "and silence is better than fake laughs or faking we're always up". This song goes deeper than this but it's TLDR as fuck so.

One thing I love about Eden is in his most recent album, his music seem to have fantastic transitions into one another, I feel like it conveys the emotions deeper idk but I love eden and his works, super talented and great person.

so there's a theory that in crash Eden actually talks about anxiety, like the war he describes is within himself. It's one of my favorite songs because of this concept.

Wake Up is actually about him going on tour and leaving his significant other, and wanting them to stop him from leaving. But when they don’t, he feels unwanted and unneeded. “Looking back I almost thought I heard you say, ‘Stay, you’re not gonna leave me, this place is right where you need to be. And why your words gotta mean so much to them, when they mean nothing to me?’”

EDEN is such an amazing artist and it's kinda sad that he's so underrated. Personal favorites of mine are SEX, Gravity, End Credits and Fumes. Please give them a listen too. EDEN's songs doesn't even need a certain mood to vibe with it, it just hits the perfects spots everytime you listen
