Thank you for that amazing tutorial! I just received my speedo and LED headlight....and after removing my handlebar cover....I was very confused. SIP does not put out a tutorial and you have de-mystified all of the confusing steps. I also appreciate the correction between wiring to red vs. white wire on the ignition> i would have made the same mistake for sure. Thank you!

Great video. I need to replace my original speedo as the odometer got stuck. I bought this from SIP but I am useless installing these things. Do I really need to install/run the temperature cable? I don’t really need it. If it is a requirement, does it really need to go to the engine as shown? I don’t understand what that has to be so awkward and why a temperature cable needs to connect in that way? Any help would be greatly appreciated

@@MrMarcopenna Hello. You don’t need to connect the temperature cable. This is only interesting for those who have tuned their engine and want to be able to control the engine temp.

@@Nordicexplorer1losing the will to live ! Just tried everything as per the instruction (not bothered with temperature cable). Connected everything and when I turn the keys on the speedo is dead. Nothing comes on. Tried connecting red wire to both, the white one at the front and then back to the red to red. Same symptoms. Brown is connected to yellow/black and black to black as suggested. For the record my Vespa is a PX 125 2014 unmodified and I can turn it on via the electrical start so I think battery should be fine (?). To make matters worse I don’t have a multimeter at hand so was hoping wiring would match and work. Any help from anyone much appreciated.

Are you not concerned about the spark plug being in a wrong position after installing the temperature ring? It is further out of the cylinder.

Very good video, I finally bought it and I'm installing it, but. I've been able to pass the temperature sensor cable through the chassis for 3 hours and it's impossible, the connector always gets stuck, any ideas?

@@joseae072 have you removed the plastic in the bottom under the fuel tank, this way you can get your arm in and reach all the way to the brake pedal. Or you can remove the brake pedal and maybe see something that way. Have you tried to pull it through on each side of the steering head, on the side where the clutch cable goes and on the side where the throttle cable goes?

Have you ever tried it on the streets in rainy conditions? and is there any water that can get into the glass from between the corners of the speedometer so that it makes the glass fog up?
@cinunuk99 Жыл бұрын
I once asked my friend who also uses a SIP speedometer like the one you use in this video, and he said that if the speedometer is used in rainy conditions there are traces of rainwater that gets into the glass through the corners of the speedometer, is that right?

Do you need to empty and disconnect the fuel tank when lifting out for cable access?
@Nordicexplorer12 жыл бұрын
Hello. No you don’t need to empty the tank. Close the fuel crane. If you are lucky the hose for the fuel and the hose for the oil are long enough so that you can lift the tank out without removing them. If they aren’t long enough you can loosen them by the carburettor and back them out with the tank. Remember to plug the oil hose with something so the oil doesn’t pour out.
