Been running one for a couple of years now. A must for any vehicle work. Carry a folded blade antenna in a pack just in case.

I am a Disco 32 fan and an extra class ham operator and license examiner, but that antenna sucks big time. I did a lot of testing with it on my JPC 2 and on a scale of 1-10 it is a 1 to 2. The longer blade from Disco32 is of course the best (and I recommend it and use it while stationary), but for mobility with a PC mounted 2m / 70cm radio while moving I would use a DIAMOND SRJF10. It is a stubby (about 2 inches tall) antenna that actually does quite well and does not impair mobility in the least mounted on a PC.

Antenna is far from perfect, but definitely serves a nitch. You are absolutely correct in your use case and commercial off the shelf radios operating in UHF - yes there are better options! Great content on your channel!

Im sorry but all i can think about is "the gimp" from Pulp Fiction 😂 Not sure if that was your point kinda being funny saying the long antennas make you "gimpy" but i cant un-see it 😂
