Two of the greatest and most godly women in Gospel music. Dottie Rambo was one of the most influential and anointed songwriters of modern times. No one can or will replace Vestal Goodman. She had a powerful and strong voice that was so very much anointed by God himself. These two women were such close and loving friends for so many decades, they truly were like sisters.

Vestle Goodman and Dotti Rambo were the best of frieds . They called each other " Sister " both for Jesus and for themselves ! They did many concerts together . Dotti was kniwn for writing thousands of songs ! Elvis Presley loved Dotti and had her over to Geaceland many times ! He recorded a few of her songs that you here !

I'm 35 years old and I grew up listening to this with my grandmother. Today was her funeral and having had to plan it since all her children including my mother has passed on, when it came to the song selection there wasn't a doubt in my mind that this would be the main song. My grandma praised the Lord with every breath of her body, she walked with the Cain for about 20 years because one foot dragged after her husband broke her neck, and she was completely bed ridden the last 3 years. But like the song says this body is a prison Bars of Bone hold my soul, 3 days ago the doors of clay burst wide open for my grandmother and now she is dancing in heaven. I love you Grandma and I sure am going to miss you. Until we meet again.

I remember this moment so well when it aired on television in January 1997, I was three years old when this lovely song came on in my little living room the holy spirit rushed all over me and I decided to become a gospel singer. 21 years later and this video still makes me tear up. Even more so now knowing I will never meet my heroes and two biggest inspirations in my career on this side of life but I know they will sing on those holy hills of heaven forevermore in the presence of our Lord and saviour. When I moved to Nashville in 2007, one of the first things I did, was go to Christ Church and attend Dottie Rambo's funeral. I didnt even know she existed, sadly, I was Catholic, so we were never allowed to hear this music. It was called, "Holy Roller" music or Bible Thumper music. Shame! Im now born again, and learning and listening to Heavenly music. I so look forward to seeing these women in Heaven! Just listening to them sing and praise Jesus!

+Deborah Ruhl - I pray that you are MUCH better and doing well. I went down to 32 myself once and it is a scary thing, for sure. I hope your sugar is back under control now by the grace of God. Diabetes is a pain in the neck, but we stay in prayer that God will see fit by His will to touch us and take away these problems, but if not, once we have our new bodies in the Lord it'll all be *gone*! Hallelujah!! Keep singing praises to the Lord and trusting in Him! I'll keep you in my prayers. I agree with Tara that listening to this beautiful music these ladies left us is indeed amazing medicine! What a *strong* faith they had! I keep trying to get there myself. My son was driving home after dropping his wife off at work. He had his 2 little boys with him. When he got home, he checked his blood sugar and it was down to 14. It's a miracle, I believe, that he didn't pass out and have an accident, and wind up in the hospital in a diabetic coma. Guardian angels were all around him.
