Italy is truly the forgotten front. The Greek Army of North Africa (composed of troops that escaped to Egypt after Greece fell) fought in Italy after El Alamein and the end of the War in Africa. Great reaction as usual. Can't wait for more!

love this song, my dads uncle was in the british artillery at monte cassino. now, if you havent heard of them, theres a band called sods opera whos songs are on youtube. its basically allied troops from different branches of the military who got together at the end of the war and made 1 album singing the songs that the soldeirs sang throughout the war, and it ranges from moving to hillarious with lots of swearing too. you get songs mocking hitler,, one about being sick of flying in the battle of the atlantic, and in realtion to this video a song called the D-day dodgers, which is troops in italy singing about (as the song suggests) how they dodged the invasion of france. not a request just if you havent heard of them then i recommend giving them a listen, especially if you want a good laugh.

The problem with history education is that there is so much history that some of it gets "hidden" by the fact that it can not all be thought school due to, what shall we call it, time constraints.

General Freiberg was also commander in charge for defence of Crete, which didn't end up very well.

As a Veteran, you'd understand the Italian terrain (narrow & mountainous) well suited for defense. Add to that the Gothic Line cutting country in 1/2 East/West & the Allies had their work cut out for 'em. I heard story abt a British & German General at a lunch or dinner yrs. after the war. Both vets of Italian campaign. After meal when socializing, former German General asked British General if he cld give him some advice. He said "The next time you attack Italy, don't start at the bottom." Unsure if true or an urban legend, but a good story.

Another legend I read in a book: Ribstrop was supposed to convince Churchill not to join the war. rippentrop: "This time Italy is on our side!" Churchill: 'It's only fair, we had them on neck last time!"😂

More Sabaton is never a bad thing. I recommend Mandaloregaming's Homeworld reviews or Bricky's Command and Conquer vids.

If you want to keep the peace...get yourself a Picard. If you want to win the war...you cannot beat The Sisko.

Buiding with more history than over a half of world's countries, and some of most holy relics of the entire western world - your point?

If the United States had experienced a modern war on its own land, with all the casualties and destruction, it might not be so proud of its gunboat policy.
