If you want to play EDF, 5 Iron Rain, and World Heroes are the ones to try for a newcomer.

The only EDF games I've played so far is the one on the PSP. The fact that it's only available in japanese, and I can't even say the word "japanese" right did NOT stop me from having fun with the sandbox, even if the class option is severely limited. Highly recommend people to give the EDF game series a try. And my advise? Focus only on the bastards swarming you, and nothing else. The story don't matter, since there's a fuckton of bastards in all sizes coming for your ass, and all you have to defend yourself is a literal peashooter against them. *Rip and Tear, until it is done.*

Pretty good idea to wait until a sale anyway because the game was kind of broken and likes to crash on pc. At least that's how it was the last time I played it.

Had a buddy of mine introduce this to me back in high school. I strapped on a jetpack and deleted an army of spiders using nothing but my wits and a plasma cannon. Best decision I’ve ever made.

the audio was a little wonky on this one, it was actually disorienting me a little bit... I get that its probably a thing to turn down the video when he's talking, but it seemed to be turning on and off randomly throughout the video. I'm willing to bet that its just picking up background noise, so if there's any way for yall to turn up the mic's recording threshold by juuuust a little bit, that would be awesome! love the videos, keep'em coming!

I played the original! 🤣🤷‍♂️ It was great, me and my friend split screened. That one you were just a little dude with huge selection of bfg’s that got better and better. Bouncing multi grenades, insane rapid fire missile launchers, I liked the deployable turrets and a shotgun🤷‍♂️

The EDF series is great, though I'd personally recommend 4.1 over 5. 5 is the second reboot of the series so far.

5 is far better for gameplay and what the next games are based on. And as a Fencer main, 4.1 plays like absolute ass.

it does make sense, though. Even the origins of EDF is explored in 92 (offline, 91 online) mission. Not to mention economics reports and recruitment campaign becoming more desperate as the humanity is dying out under constant allien attacks.
