So this might be a strange question… But the vet I worked at reused their needles for months and months, only throwing them away when they were bent. Our vet also didn’t wear sterile gloves during surgery, and sometimes he didn’t wear any at all! He also waters down the soap, so his hands aren’t even clean. Is this normal for vets to do??

I've never worked with a vet that did this. I also wouldn't personally feel comfortable doing those things myself!

How do surgery exams work? Do u do it on a computer? Or do u physically do it? (If physically would u have to do it privately with ur teacher?)

Our surgery midterms/exams are all theory based! So they were multiple choice questions about the procedure, drug calculations, fluid rates ect!! We’re also assessed on our surgery skills in the surgery labs through the year!

Normally all our classes would be on campus but with Covid we’ve mostly had online lectures the past 2 years!

My worst fear is forgetting what I learned during vet school, then not knowing how to save an animal! 😫

As you get into practice, the things you see most common will become muscle memory! And if you do forget something you can always look it up!
