I like how the video has to be flipped, not because Charlie is striking these channels, but because other channels stealing his content are reporting each other. Truly the peak of civilization.

The woman who unalived on air didn’t do it because she wasn’t married at her age or was bad at dating. Many articles state that she was sick of always having to report on the morbid and violent news instead of the things she wanted to report on. She had started her segment as finding nice and uplifting stories that occurred in town but her bosses told her she wasn’t getting the views they needed and she had to dive into darker topics to get that engagement. It took a toll on her already declining mental health. Kinda sucks that the video totally glosses over that point when you can find it by simply googling her name and reading the first article that shows up.

She made it pretty clear in her personal letters that the deciding factor was finding out she was infertile. She desperately wanted a family and she saw no way to make that happen. The cynicism and corruption of the news industry certainly didn't help things, and she mentioned that much in her on-air note, but that wasn't her personal breaking point.

Ads don't necessarily mean monetization, there can be ads on a video where the poster isn't getting paid for it, just saying.
