Again, a great review. I'm so glad you have started to focus on safety and adress the issues of EUC's. I have decided not to buy a new EUC, until all the basic safety features, like smart BMS , no dangerous cut outs, strong rims, strong and service friendly cases and I would love to be able to change the tire with ease, are in place. The S20 is somewhat close, but the range is not for me. Keep up the good work of changing the industry, I really appreciate it.

Mountain bikes adopted tubeless tires years ago for the weight savings and ability to run lower air pressure without causing pinch flats. But since the minimum weight savings isn’t significant and can’t run low psi due to soft rims, I don’t believe there’s any advantage of a tubeless tire on a EUC. And yes, they’re still prone to flats. Good review!
@RonnieRides2 жыл бұрын
There are downsides to tubeless as well so many mountain bikers don't go for it in reality, optimally you also need to maintain it pretty often
@Acebean2 жыл бұрын
they are much less likely to go flat tho but yeah tbh don't think its needed on euc
@YourAubsome2 жыл бұрын
I switched to tubeless on my mountain bike then ended up going back to tubes (pros and cons of both). I agree with you there doesn't seem to be any benefit to going tubeless for this unicycle.

@@pdglagger true the wheel is heavier but you also have to understand the vast majority of the weight is from the extra battery capacity so there's no getting around that. I feel like the hollow motor issues have been largely resolved or at least the bearings are much better protected I have three wheels with hollow motor and have never had any issues with any of them. Monster Pro, EXN, and Hero C38. It's nice to not have to worry about an axle bending with these heavy wheels and especially if you're a heavy rider like me around 100 kg.
@YourAubsome2 жыл бұрын
The Abrams doesn't make sense..... What were they thinking? I doubt we will ever know.... There are so many reasons not to buy this wheel with all of the others available now. The only reason I could even see for getting this is if you want a huge tire and you don't want a Gotway (Monster Pro).

You've only had one flat in all the miles you've riden? Lucky you! Try riding in the desert where we don't have to worry about water ingress, but there are thorns everywhere. I won't ride off-road because I don't like fixing flats on EUC's.

@revolucioncoffee30442 жыл бұрын
I think there might be something wrong with your abrams. A lot of the behavior you’re talking about isn’t the same on my wheel. There is a huge difference from soft medium and hard modes, it doesn’t dip on acceleration or braking either. The only problem I’ve noticed is dipping in tight turns.
@dan.t.hillary2 жыл бұрын
I also don't see any of the pedal dipping behavior, but I'm a lighter rider at 150lbs. And my experience between the Monster and the Abrams is the exact opposite of Adam's: the monster feels sleepy and doesn't want to accelerate, but the Abrams will give me all the acceleration that I ask for.

It seems the Sherman is still the overall king of EUCs. It just had great design and wasn't trying to be fancy. The Sherman is more like a robust army tool, and it really looks like one too. It seems that all the effort for these new wheels is purely aesthetical. Instead of making the wheels better, they just make them "look cooler". It seems they do very little actual design iteration development or even testing. A major red flag that kinda resonates with the pandemic. Too many corners cut.
@MikeMPharmaCyclist2 жыл бұрын
I don't view the Sherman as king... for one thing it only has a 2500w motor which is fairly weak for a big, heavy wheel. The EXN has a 2800 watt motor, is considerably cheaper though it does have a slightly smaller battery. The Commander has a 3000w motor (I think, it's at least 2800w), 3600wh battery, and comes in HS or HT variants. Almost everyone I've seen says the Commander feels a lot more agile and powerful than the Sherman. Lastly, you have the beast Monster Pro in a class of its own with a 3500 watt motor, 3600wh battery, and 24 inch tire... Sherman feels like riding a toy after MPro (as does every other smaller wheel). The main pluses of the Sherman are the roll cage and display... personally I don't see what else and I think it's far from king status.

@@MikeMPharmaCyclist motor is not a one and main parameter. It's all about overall package. 2500kw is more than enough, it just hs motor, not ht. Plus keep is weeker motor makes it safer for the battery

I believe that it does not have an engine and battery temperature reader, because these will not overheat due to the design of this wheel. for the additional alarms, I believe that they wanted to keep a single signal per event so as to prevent the user from overriding these and risking a cut off followed by a fall. the fact that the signal is strong and audible tells the user to correct and not to override it

The battery cases mate with the inner fender to create the “inner” shell. It’s the same as a shelled wheel except you can take the sides off and wash them. In your shelled wheel, you would take the wheel out and it’s all dirty inside as well.

Nothing is indestructible it all depends on how hard you push it. Even if they were to give you the most durable RIM I am pretty entrain you will drop it from a redicilous height which will cause it to break lol.. You cant do stunts with roles Royce then break it and calling it a weak 🤣

Not a fan of your reviews. For one you compare this wheel to wheels that are in a different class. And you said you like the S22 trolley handle over the Abrams. Simply a lie. Although it's objective. There's no way it's true. The rim isn't weak. You simply do things this wheel isn't made for. I believe content creators like you. Over speak. Voice your opinion and dress it as facts vs objective opinion. In return you affect the sales and development of new wheels. 👎
