You need a Deerstalker hat and a nice tartan rug over your knees on a day like this 😁

Tbh any extra warmth would have been welcome today, but the car wasn't complaining!

I bet that made the land rover feel positively space age in comparison

@@andrewking8081 Yes! Actually I drove it for the first time in several weeks yesterday and it certainly felt good to get back behind the wheel. Amusingly, I've driven hundred year old cars that feel more modern than the forty year old Land Rover... they are just such antiquated technology!

Amazing when I think that in 1902 my dads mom was 19 and her future husband, my grandfather, was 36. She passed in 1980 at age 97 after a bad fall.broke her hip. She was still writing poetry just before. imagine the historical firsts she saw and knew in those 97 years.

The life and history these old vehicles have seen is really something, especially since owning such a thing was considered rather strange, if not downright eccentric until quite recently. It's a miracle so many survive... Sometimes the name plates, badges and modifications tell the car's story!

@@steamwally Its all very interesting to me. The first car I remember as a child that my family had was a 1957 Pontiac V8 with what was called Tri Power (three carburetors) I believe. I believe it had dual exhausts I was still very young when they traded it in. My parents both loved high powered V8 General Motor made cars right up until they passed on. There are a lot of those `57 pontiacs that survived. Many are returned to showroom perfection. Iconic restoration cars are a big business in the USA Each one is a piece of history in every country. Cars gave us all freedom to travel.
