Enjoyed your video as usual 👊 increased pedal height coming??? Nice. I must say that the Sherman is fantastic for climbing hills. Just not super steep hills. You don't want to scare people away by saying it's not good for general purpose hills 😳 Regarding the tire troubles that you are having. This is very interesting. I may have missed it but nobody I know in the United States has complained about this. I know eWheels has Veteran install the knobby tires at the factory. I wonder if whoever you buy them from installs the knobby tires themselves and that they are messing up somehow??? Don't know of course. But again, never heard this before. 👍👌👊

I love my Sherman, but it arrived new with a wobbly tire My Sherman arrived with an off balance, off road tire to the point where I thought the tire was malformed and replaced it. the new off road tire sits better, but still is far from perfect. I've read and heard about at least 4 other Sherman owners with this issue. (original tire) kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJvUmYZmoKZ4hNU (new tire before working to center it) kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5Dcq5Kva66WqcU. I've been in touch with Jason from eWheels, and got the impression they really take their time when setting the tire. It seems like (in my investigation and experience) that there is a margin of possibility between that motor/rim and the tires that are supposed to fit. I honestly can't tell how much the tire wobble effects wheel performance
@Born2Ride1083 жыл бұрын
Same wobbly issue on my knobby tire. Tried the massage technique but it works better on my girlfriend..;'). What I did end up doing was deflate the tire to around 7 psi and then ride it very slowly on flat ground. This helps seat it on the rim. Wobble is almost gone now...

Honestly I ride my sherman 35 degrees trails and steeper and it does fine. It's true it's not as tourquey as the msp you can't accelerate as hard on steep off-road conditions. But I haven't experienced a hill I couldn't go up tbh.

I have a knobby tire. It was badly misaligned. I took mine to a bicycle shop and they couldn’t even get it to fit right. They told me that the tire and/or rim is poorly designed. This is why I appreciate the ninebot z10. They engineered the rim to fit perfectly with the tire. Which is why it feels so balanced.

One offroad activity the Sherman excels at is power sliding/drifting on sand. Low pedals don't matter since they can dig into the sand. I uploaded lots of big controlled power slides to my channel some nearly 30 feet long. I've tried drifting with my 16x and the biggest slide I can do without falling is under 10 feet. The difference between these wheels is tremendous. The Sherman is so well balanced.

I am bias about the Light since i drive a V11. I do love it, and i cant really comment about the Sherman's light. But 1 not really talked about point that the V11 got right is the back braking light! Think about it: When you ride in traffic. How are the card drivers behind you suppose to know when you are breaking ? I actually got a compliment by a traffic police officer that it's great that im using my hands as turn signals, and that the breaking light on this device is really visible. He would wish bicyclists, and some Mopeds had braking lights like this.

He is direct competitor to Sherman - similiar range/motor/size, very big battery, less weight (-2kg), and.....much lower price (-600$). great video as always ;) tip to center the tire: deflate it, put a lot of soap on tire and rim (i use dish soap), tire should be free to move under your weight, inflate to a really low psi like 10-15 psi. Ride carefully around the house doing 360 left and right, just 2 minutes using your weight against the tire. after that it should be centered pretty well

That was like the first trick that came up on google. Tried it on my sherman. Didn't work. I tried it lots of times too. And tried other methods. Nothing worked. I found that the wobble goes away after about 55km/h. Then it rides smooth. But between 35km/h and 50km/h you can feel the wobbles and it feels like you're riding some kind of cheap wheel. Almost bounces around. Ah well. The sherman is still the best thing in the universe at the moment. I just avoid that wobble speed range. Either ride below 35km/h or above 55km/h.

Thanks Adam for the info on the knobby tire being hard to keep balanced. I was thinking mine was not perfectly straight either. I guess when it wears out I will switch to the street tire, that I also have since my Sherman was originally on the street tire and I paid to have them change it. So, like you I may try and fix it myself if it annoys me but, if it switches back I will probably just live with it until it wears out. I may consider getting the new foot plates. I’m a Cruiser in whatever I ride in (hence the name) so I should be happy with it. Safe Cruising! Craig

I already got some designs to soft mod my future Sherman. * I will stick baby bumper rubber on the sides for grip. * I am going to cover the corners of the bar with baby rubber to prevent scratching. * I am going to attach mountainbike mudguard right under the rear light. I will "stitch" multiple together to create a dragon-tale. * I will cut yogablock into pads. I am going to use velcro, so I can move the pads around. * I will stick velcro right under the front light. So I can stick a reflector on it or a yogablock as a stand. * I am going to put a velcro band on the trollyhandle. So when in a crashed the handle will not shoot out and get broken or bent (Kuji crash). I already got the Zoomwheel Brains seat. I am going to put some rubber underneath the seat. The backside of the seat will rest partially on the shell. So the seat will not snap. RS torque is on my list for... Torque.

I don't own an EUC (yet), but I do own a Onewheel which i freaking love. I'm thinking of getting the Sherman as my first EUC. Now I know all the OG EUC riders say that the Sherman would not make a good introduction to these PEV's. However, I believe in "buy once, cry once", so rather than buy some newbie wheel to learn on, I think I'd rather just go all out for the Sherman. My question is this: Is Veteran going to be releasing a V2 of the Sherman in the near future? Should I wait for that version, or would it make more sense to just buy the current version? Thanks in advance.

@urthpainter3 жыл бұрын
I don't think so - I think it is more of a rim issue. I had exactly the same problem with the tire that came with the Veteran and the replacement tire I got. I think the rim has a margin of where the tire ends up sitting. This has to be gotten right before inflating. Many other tire/rim combos can be overinflated and the tire will snap into place. That has not been my experience trying to get this tire to sit perfectly. Tire lube, baby powder, and all the youtube tricks don't seem to change this

My Sherman Veteran arrived with a tire wobble as well. What is most disappointing is that I can't get it perfect no matter how hard I have tried, with research and various mounting tricks. edit: really liked your review! I like how detailed you get with all the wheel characteristics. another edit: imo the biggest difference between the (MSX/MSP/RS) and Veteran is the Gotways maintain the 'magic carpet ride' feel. I feel like one 'drives' the Sherman Veteran due to its weight. You can feel it after a long ride, how much you have to push the wheel around, especially on dynamic twisty rides. It's also a very freeing feeling to ride the Veteran for a few hours, then jump on the MSP for a few hours after that.
