Wonderful document of SBB oldtimer electrics, a diesel locomotive was a rarer sight than the Ae4/7, and all 3 types of the Ae3/6 are in this film as well. The 2 older types being heritage locomotives? they have the old brown colour and lanterns, and I know that both SBB and BLS used to give the veteran locomotives a light daily pickup freight to keep them fit.

Was it preferred or mandatory for a pair of Ae 3/7 to connect as a Ae 6/14 to pull a load. (not for light engine moves)? Single axle bogie at the connection end of each locomotive.
