@@amyjo8696 . Start with a small amt of homemade raw. Freeze it in ice cube trays or small balls so you don’t waste much. My cats were not happy at first and I tried many things to get them to eat it (this isn’t a problem if they are kittens and not addicted to dry food yet). I found if I crushed one of their favorite treats (Greenies cat nip as example) and sprinkled it over the raw food, they ate it. (Like a tablespoon or less at first). If your cat eats canned food, then just add a very small amt increasing over time to that. If they eat sardines or tuna (which shouldn’t be their total diet) add a bit of that in their meal. As a last resort, crumble up the kibble over the wet food. Those kibble bits are tough as nails. I crush them in a garlic press. Good luck. Years ago it took my cats about 6 months to totally start eating the raw I make for them. It requires a lot of patience. But! My male feral cat ( who was about 6 years old when I got him and not in the best shape after 5+ yrs on the streets of cold Detroit ) lived 16 years. Quite amazing ( he never got any vax after what I had to get in order to get him neutered). I have a 15 year old humane society female cat and a 12 yr old feral female who was under a year old when she was trapped in January Michigan winter. Both healthy and no vax after what was required to get them spayed. In my opinion, kibble is a slow starvation diet for a cat or dog. Kinda like feeding your child McDonalds for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. Good luck. Once on raw, they eat less and don’t cry for food all day. If you can grind the chicken yourself it’s much better but this video is a start.

@@amyjo8696 . Cats can be so finicky. Anytime I’ve had to change food I do it extremely slowly. A teaspoon at a time and still cover it up with food they’re used to…….then a crushed treat sprinkled on. I’ve been doing this for years but I still get a cat that would starve itself to death before eating what is good for them. It’s incredible. But once they switch, they do so well. Better fur etc. We just need to have so much patience with some of them. The time it took 6 months for one of my cats I thought I would lose my mind. I threw out so much food. But finally I figured out how to put a tiny bit of the new food in right from the get go. Don’t even put it down to see if they’ll just go for it first. They won’t. But after seeing there’s something new, they get suspicious and make a big ark around the dish staring at it like it’ll jump out and get them…..or they think you’re poisoning them. 😂

Here is another subject that if mentioned to the vet, they look at me like I have 3 purple heads. And, the derogatory remarks about not taking care of my pets!! Until people DEMAND that the laws be changed, in order to protect our pets, we are FORCED to get these vaccines. If you tell a vet you won't get them vaccinated, even if a titer test shows that they are still fully immunized, they refuse to see you. I tried for years, 30 years ago, to make changes in legislature, but the pharma companies have the legislature in their pocket$! Healthy isn't good if the docs and the drug companies aren't making money. Many more people would take their pets in for exams if we could find vets who actually care about the HEALTH of our pets, and not be constantly pushing drugs and tests.

It's difficult because SO many pet owners don't do their homework and look into things. They're the same ones feeding their pets the worst food ever. They 100% trust anything a white coat says to them--then wonder why their animal develops some disease soon after or years later. Gee, can't figure out what it could be??

Same… sorry your dogs has gone through such a tough time after those vaccines. I’ve observed the same with my dog and cat. Allergies, seizure, pancreatitis and IBD. Haven’t tested my cat for gut lymphoma yet… but I wouldn’t be surprised if my cat was on that route. Now both are fed raw, my cat only able to eat rabbit with minimal reaction, and is gaining weight + no longer scratching herself till she bled. The vet still gives me an earful for feeding raw and for refusing to load my pets up with monthly neurotoxins and yearly vaccinations, but I’m not gonna put them at risk just bc of that. Esp when the research is now out there. Better to pay for very pricey tithers than to pay thousands later in life to treat chronic diseases.

You might want to check Pet Alive page, I used to give my epileptic dogs an homeopathic called Ease Sure. I can not guarantee that it will be of help for your dogs but it was for mine. I had two epileptic sisters that were given allopathic medicine all their live until they suddenly appeared with their liver and kidneys destroyed by the meds and the vet said that there was nothing that he could give them, not even antibiotics if they get sick. Just imagine my face... I went away and I don’t know how I found Pet Alive. I gave them the very mini, mini pellets not three times a day as the packaged said but two times and I don’t remember the number of drops but I think that the recommended dosage was five drops three times a day but I gave six but just two times a day. They never had another atack and they still live next to two years after that They do not die from their problem itself but from herlichia that they got from the vet. They were asymptomatic until they fell to die immediately. There were no ticks at home and they had none but they have been visiting the vet. A nightmare. It was a great loss, another rescued dog died to from the disease too. She was perfectly healthy before visiting that vet. Products from PA are expensive. I use now Runi Poo and Pet Calm with some of the straight non socialized cats that I care for. Ease Sure could be given in liquid form too. If you desire you could check their page. I tried explaining to my vet that EVERY SINGLE one of my dogs I've owned has suffered "issues" following vaccines and it fell on deaf ears. I told her about the Anaphylaxis my first dog suffered, then the horrible skin allergies, chronic ear infections, autoimmune diseases and strange cancers appearing in my last 3 dogs...she still told me how my dog was at risk for dying and that I was putting my dog at severe risk. I asked her to explain ALL of the possible side effects and after listing them (which were all horrible), she told me I should still vaccinate. Then I thought, of course, that way when my pet suffers through more skin conditions, dietary allergies, chronic issues, etc., the vet will cover all of the never-ending expenses right??

Wish more vets would understand the dangers of overvaccinating. One of my vets would not give my 13 yr old schnauzer a rabies vaccine, and insisted we run a titer instead. At the time, I did not understand how right she was. A different vet insisted I give the rabies vaccine to a different 14 yr old schnauzer and it sent her into a near fatal anaphylactic reaction. If I wouldn't have been in the parking lot at the vet clinic, I would have lost her. This same dog developed chronic kidney disease. My current dog was just diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. Really makes me what is happening with our pets. There is a 3 year rabies vaccine and yet many vets vaccinate yearly. So very sad that we do not practice what is best for the animal.

I am a first time pet owner (aside from childhood pets). I thought I was doing the right thing with all the vaccinations I got my dog on when he was a pup. My heart hurts weekly now, because I am 100% certain this chronic ear issue he has had for four years is a result of the vaccines. No one could convince me otherwise. Two weeks after a second set of shots (over a two week period) when he was still just a puppy, had us into the emergency as he yelped in pain and showed signs of significant pain in his left ear. Since his follow up rabies shot two years ago he has had chronic ear infections, head shaking, and just gross stuff in that ear. I’ve gone to the vet, the natural vet, and no one can figure it out. I thought maybe allergies. He gets a high quality raw diet with probiotics, and I’ve tried so many things. It breaks my heart that I can’t fix him. We’ve narrowed down his diet to two meats that seem to work well and his symptoms seem to be less. But, honestly, some days out of seemingly nowhere they flare up. I’ve even switched to use natural and unscented detergent for anything he is in contact with. It sucks that we trust doctors to inform us until we learn that we can’t trust them. We just have to somehow know to research things beforehand. PS thank you for this video. I wish it was something I saw years before.

No lie, I'd been wracking my brain to figure out how my "Very healthy!" senior dog who had JUST hit 11 (retriever x shepherd mix) and overcome both a tooth infection AND the subsequent surgery to remove the bad tooth (one of very very few bad teeth he had, he was so healthy) died suddenly just a month and a few days after getting his yearly shots and a 3 year rabies vaccine. between 48-72 hours after getting it, he was suddenly showing all the signs of arthritis or a compressed disk in the spine. We took him in ASAP they did test that came back "Clean" for his kidneys so he could go ahead and take the arthritis medicine... and he just started to slowly get suddenly older. He was my first, and he was my therapy dog and best friend (practically my son lol). We reckon the spleen cancer started to take hold maybe a few days to at most a week following his annual exams, blood tests and shots, or else they missed it entirely. I know its hard to find, so I won't blame that... It's just that no one ever mentioned any of these risks and back when I got him I was practically a kid myself just out of highschool. I hadn't learned to even consider that a vet may not have your best interests at heart or that the animal care was not as well regulated and all as the human care was. It's predatory how some vets just do NOT care about telling you the full facts and even prefer not to so as to get you to come back more often. The entire system where I live is designed to ensure you have to ALWAYS keep those shots up to date or never be able to bring your dog anywhere public like dog parks or event spaces or anything else like that. I'm sad that it seems I may have unknowingly cut short my baby's time with us, who knows by how much, due to the sudden introduction of the vaccines to his still recovering system (there was about 4-6 weeks between his tooth surgery and the annual shots/exams, at least, but still...) Knowing all of this, I would have waited for a longer time to do his shots and possibly I would also have just cancelled the voluntary lumpectomy, in preference of having him with us just a wee bit longer, maybe one more summer we could have gotten... maybe. Take the advice and make sure to stretch those shots out and get them carefully, whoever reads this (lol) - trust me you WANT to have the comfort of knowing you did EVERYTHING you could. I know I did, for the information I had at the time, but going forwards I will do things more cautiously in hopes of keeping my furrfamily with me that much longer.

One of the issues we face as pet owners is boarding kennels and day cares - they require vaccines to whatever the current suggestions are. I’ve had literally several dozen dogs and cats in the last 30 years of my life. Living in the country means you get plenty of people’s dumped pets and strays. Most have never been vaccinated at all and not one has ever been sick (other than from a parasite infection one time). They are regularly exposed to strays, and wild animals. They are rarely bathed except for their own dips in the pond. They eat vermin, birds and dead animals. They are all healthy, happy and loved, and all live long and happy lives. I believe our animal management system is the antithesis for vaccination and modern animal “health care”. Give them plenty of food, fresh air, room to be the animals they were created to be and lots of love and attention. Rarely is anything else needed.

@@di_kid00 My cats never go outside. Rabies vaccine can cause injection site sarcoma. So no to rabies. I am going to do more research before deciding on the FVRCP. A study by the National Institute of Health, found that the FVRCP vaccine binds to the kidneys and prevents them from performing their function. This happened 13% to 41% of the time in the study. Most vaccines have added chemicals, called adjuvants. Adjuvants stimulate the immune system to respond to the vaccine. There is a strong link between adjuvants and cancer, but it is not 100%. There is a non-adjuvant rabies vaccine called Purevax. It is made by Boehringer Ingelheim, a world wide maker of pet and human pharmaceuticals. If your cat is getting a rabies vaccine, I would ask for Purevax.

Years ago I asked the vets why the vaccine volume amounts for a small dog were the same as for a big dog and I was told there was no available option to get a vaccine in different mls. Has this changed? I have all toy dogs and would like to get them on a smaller dose. I have a puppy due for her rabies shortly and she is a 10lb Pom. Why should she receive the same dose as a 150lb dog? I only do puppy shots and then rabies after that because I have to. I stop rabies at 8 years, they can fine me all they want. If you are jabbed for covid, that is not common sense. Didn't Israel just admit that zero healthy people under the age of 50 died from covid over there? Also: A new study on Covid-19’s infection fatality rate (IFR) by age from a team led by Dr. John Ioannidis, the world’s most-cited physician, estimates that Covid’s IFR in the pre-vaccine era was under 0.1% for those under 70-even lower than previously believed. Dr. Ioannidis et. al. found that across 31 national seroprevalence studies in the pre-vaccine era, the median IFR was 0.0003% at 0-19 years, 0.003% at 20-29 years, 0.011% at 30-39 years, 0.035% at 40-49 years, 0.129% at 50-59 years, and 0.501% at 60-69 years. This comes out to 0.035% for those aged 0-59 and 0.095% for those aged 0-69.

Thank you for creating a video on this topic. I love watching your videos. Unfortunately, we don't live in a world where common sense prevails. I live in New York State, which mandates that the rabies vaccine MUST be administered to "label instructions." However, the label doesn't say anything about dosing, so a toy poodle must receive the same vaccine as a great dane. As you've pointed out, this can lead to adverse vaccine reactions. The other, perhaps more worrying, aspect of vaccines is the preservative used in rabies vaccines for dogs. Mercury is used as the preservative in most rabies vaccines. Of course, mercury is a heavy metal and is highly toxic. I found one vaccine manufacturer that doesn't use mercury as a preservative and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my local veterinary hospital uses the mercury-free vaccine. I asked them to show me the lablel before they administered it (and they administer in the leg, rather than the neck, which is great). The label is Merial IMBRAB TF (TF = Thimerosal Free). The reason you don't want your pet vaccinated in the neck or shoulder is because if they develop cancer at the injection site, you can't amputate a shoulder, but you can amputate a leg. I'm sure the veterinary practice thinks I'm a lunatic, but I'd rather not have my dogs suffer chronic or terminal diseases that could have been prevented. More education is needed by regulators so that veterinarians can provide weight-appropropriate dosages of these important vaccines.

My dog had reaction that caused IMHA. Her hct was 6.9% in less than 2 weeks after shots. She’s a chihuahua jack russell mix and about 20 lbs. The vet went to get one of his dogs and did emergency blood transfusion. She did hemaspike for a while but a couple months later she was low rbc again and had to get another transfusion. I found a group on Facebook that was dedicated to IMHA dog owners and they helped a lot. One actually got me in touch with a blood bank and they shipped packed red cells for a 3rd transfusion. After a lot of prednisone and cyclosporine I am happy to say my dog has been in remission for a few years now. But I was doing homemade food, milk thistle, weekly blood work etc. The vet clinic still calls her their miracle dog because she definitely beat the odds.

17 years ago we kept 5 of the cocker spaniels from the same litter.Unfortunately, the mother dog was of my sister , not spayed and got pregnant. OUr mother dog Maya was about to die because a baby was stuck in the womb canal. She got operated and could not feed her babies.Stitches she had .So, me was taking care of 6 puppies ( one of them we gave away and kept 5) ,sleepless nights, all of them crying at different hours, it was crazy. One of them , Lovely he was also premature. I had to give special attention to him. They all got vaccinated at the same day, by the same vet . They had their puppy vaccines, 2 dhpLL with 3 weeks of interval, bronchitis , corona ( once upon a time corona vaccine was suggested opposed to today) and finally rabies. Guess what ? Just before the 2nd year vaccination, Lovely got parvo not sure but also distemper I assume ( he was around a year old) and deceased. THis was a very big lesson for me. Althought dogs are vaccinated, they may not be fully protected against diseases. I know that with KC because there are so many strains and bronchitis vaccine do not fully cover all. Lovely, was staying for a while with my mum while I was abroad and I believe he most probably went around dogs who were not fully vaccinated ( many street dogs in Turkey) and since he did not have enough antibodies , he got sick opposed to our quartet which were fully healthy. I do still not know what went wrong but obviously he did not develop enough antibodies. They were all born with a disadvantage because apart 2 days they could not get mother milk but instead the powder milk we gave in syringes. And Lovely was the weekest. .. Tonight, it is their birthday. They would be all 17 years old today. By the way, one of the rescue GRs I have developed rabies allergy. He lost hair , had a temporary paralysis. Now, all going back to normal.Since he is destined to fly abroad to US, he shall be periodically vaccinated. But still, it is a mandatory vaccine and impossible to get permission to not vaccinate our dogs against rabies although they may have an underlying issue...

They did it anyways and said it was an “error in communication.” He developed AIHA shortly after and died. I believe in vaccines, but I also believe that we overvaccinate our animals and most vets go along with pushing this narrative for money. I don’t vaccinate for everything. After the initial puppy vaccines, I space subsequent ones out over five years and even then I don’t opt for them all but decide based on my dogs’ lifestyle and exposure to possible contaminants.

This info is specifically about Puppys? So what about older dogs? Like 7 year old Chihuahuas rescued and that got vaccines from a humane society and then my first year of having her she got another vaccine or booster? My two little dogs are always outside supervised and they are mostly indoor dogs. I can get vaccines from Tractor Supply and give them myself. Im not in a hurry though and would appreciate info particular to 6+ years for small dogs? I wouldn't adopt a puppy because there are so many older dogs that need homes. I want to give them a break from vaccines as long as possible.

Got a cat vacc'd 20 years ago, and his back leg wasted after it. Vet said it was impossible, I was making it up. [smh]

My giant breed pet was waxxinated and lost control of her legs for 4 days. I understand they serve a purpose but no more waxxines for us ( I say wax because KZbin won't let me write the word with a V... Land of the free right 😂)

My boy Bran had JUST gotten his 3 year vaccine shots for rabies and such, as well as a couple other annual ones, maybe a week or two before his sudden health downturn... Around 5 weeks later, he had passed of spleen cancer, after suddenly having arthritis onset in his hips. He pretty much maybe within 48 hours of getting the vaccine was having issues standing. We took him to the vets ASAP and they inspected him and did some blood tests and found that he had early stages arthritis and maybe a compressed disc in early stages, cleared him for use of the meds for the pains and inflammation, and said he seemed otherwise healthy. And then he died, really suddenly, and we didn't even know to take him in because we just thought it was his arthritis pains flaring up. He WAS, after all, an older dog... But before that vaccine he had seemed so very very healthy, having fought off not only an infection in the mouth but then also healing spectacularly from the resulting necessary surgery. We did so much to ensure he was the healthiest we could help him be, and the vets never seemed to be doing anything wrong, but still I keep wracking my brain because it still feels like I failed him some how. It may not have stopped the eventuality of the cancer happening one day, but knowing this stuff and employing the judicious application of the shots and spreading them out so as to not overtax his system really does feel like "the thing" I was looking for that I could have done better. I think I could have given him a bit more time and maybe a less painful and surprising passing, if I had known how much of an effect the shots can have on the animal's system. I wish they would explain any of this when you go in for shots. I wish they would tell you "if you are able to do so, its best to break these vaccines up over a few months so they don't get them all at once, as it reduces the risks of adverse reactions". I know that can add up fast for people's financial situation, but if they were a bit more clear on the risks, maybe people could plan ahead for the need to do multiple trips.. I'm not upset with anyone, just sad that perhaps I could have given us more time with him and him an easier time leaving us. Thank you, I'll be paying much closer attention to how we handle the shots from now on. :(
