@@audny3096 I’m sorry I’m just seeing this question. I had the 120,000 SPU dosage capsules by Doctors Best brand on Amazon. Different company now makes one that is just for pets called Serra Pet. I was just guessing as I went along because there wasn’t much info out there back then. You do need to give on an empty stomach otherwise it helps to digest the food and doesn’t work systematically. I coated mine with a little cream cheese. I also used it one time when my dog developed a large fevered cyst after a surgery. I had the vet drain the cyst twice but it kept coming back and they didn’t know why. The third time it came back I gave him three capsules of serrapeptase and when I got up the next morning, the fever was gone and so was the cyst. We never had another issue after that.

Horrible :( try an elimination diet - one food at a time. Also try to locate a really good vet dermatologist who can pinpoint the infection for a custom medicine to get it under control. I adopted a dog who was supposed to get that ear removal, I took him to my own vet, then saw a dermatology specialist, and soon found he is allergic to beef. We eliminated beef - no ear infection.

@VeterinarySecrets3 ай бұрын
One trick that works is warming up some coconut oil and gently massaging around the ear first-it can help soften things up and make your dog a little more comfortable. Try using treats as a reward during and after, too. Make it a 'treat party' and turn ear-cleaning into a game. Baby steps are key-don’t force it, just get them used to having you near those ears.

I got one of those wide, round, soft, padded adjustable cone/collars in XL for my cat. He can't reach his ear. He has other areas and itchiness that the vet says could be allergies. So, I switched to fish food, which is a less likely allergan than beef or chicken. He's a big boy, so he gets 1/2 a Zyrtec in a salmon Pill Pocket daily and 2 allergy/immune treats. They gave me Animax for his ears. I got a flea treatment that covers mites, just to be on the safe side, although he is indoor and I haven't seen anything. He's a little better. I am wondering if blood work would show anything. I already spent a few hundred at my expensive vet. It hurts to see them suffer. Praying you find solutions for your cat. Also, they recommended a fish oil supplement be put on his food.
@nightnurse77772 ай бұрын
Also, I got an over the counter anti-itch spray for the other itchy areas that are not open. I don't use that for the ears, though.
