Getting Into Vet School

My journey has been all over the place too, I was always obsessed with animals but never good at science or maths so pushed vet to the side. I ended up not doing maths, or chem in my HSC because I thought I wanted to be a psychologist, I ended up doing a bachelor of psychology, hated it and then did vet nursing and worked as a vet nurse for the next 4 years. I then did a year's worth of chem and maths tutoring and got into a bachelor of vet tech 5 years out of high school. Got the GPA I needed, then finally was accepted into vet science. Not without a lot of voluntary work placement on farms as well. Got there in the end!

You’ve just given me so much more confidence that I will get in too, my journey has been long too (a fair bit longer than yours!). Thanks for sharing! I had HEAPS of trouble with QTAC too. I applied for Vet tech at UQ and missed out on their first offer round because they hadn’t received my uni marks. Luckily, I called and they realised the issue otherwise I wouldn’t be studying vet tech right now! Hoping to transfer into vet science next year 🤞🏽
