For HVAC Service I pair the KLEIN "All Purpose' longnose pliers and the KLEIN Crimpers - that gives you end-cutting AND good crimpers. Eliminates need to carry just side cutters. Combine those with an HVAC 8-in-1, or the Hilmor 9-in-1, and a clamp meter and you're all set to diagnose and do light repairs.

Good call ! I usually modify mine to ride high , here in Canada , a pouch can easily fill up with frozen slush , come winter ! I also put a loop of 1/4” Shock cord around the whole issue . Saves you from donating tools if you have to crawl somewhere !

To solve the pendulum: 1. Gunslingers had a lanyard at the bottom tied around the leg. 2. Get fabric glue & glue hook side of velcro to pouch & loop part to work pants

Maybe make a strap with a snap lock on the d rings to fasten it around your leg as some kind of drop leg holster. Don’t know if it’ll help, never really used a pouch like that

I have the MP2 and I stick it my back pocket and strap it to my belt. I have a video on it if you want to check it out. I do similar type of work. Used to work with Johnson Controls for a long time doing installs and now mostly doing access controls. Good video man.

Currently using the ToughBuilt - Technician 6-Pocket Pouch with similar tools as those. Worth a try for under $20 and the fewer tools to carry. Been considering between the MP1 and MP2 though.

I use the large technician pouch from tough built. I love it and the ability to pop it on and off the belt but my issue is the locking mechanism fails after a few months the pouch never wears out but the clip does

I normally just put a drywall screw through the bottom of the pack into my leg to prevent the swinging.
@UpstateMaveric
@UpstateMaveric Жыл бұрын
tried this... I'm too active, shear strength on the drywall screw isn't the best, ended up snapping - lol

Use Both "D" rings to attach them to the top of the belt clip with a strong line , or craft something nice from paracord . swing and rotation will be over ... maybe . My issue with the pouch is that I do rigging and I dont like loosing tools . All and all I like that Pouch

Knipex stripper have decent range. Won't go all the way to 20, but I don't want a stripper that does both large and small gauge normally, so I prefer to have two tools.

I went from this to an atlas 46 set up for a wearable pouch. I found this sat too low and using the flap it couldn’t support a full load

In a pouch I had the same movement problem, I solved it by putting an elastic band on the bottom. The band goes around my leg and hooks back to the pouch with a latch. Maybe such a solution can work for you.

@@UpstateMaveric for most of the service jobs I might walk into I need a minimal amount of tools, but it's a little more than what you're carrying there. I could downsize my screwdrivers to one multidriver but I like the 4 I carry. I downsized quite a bit from where I started too.. bigger jobs now get the bigger bag.

I've used the 7-tool tech pouch 5+ days a week for over 6 months now as a phoneman for AT&T. Initially, it worked great, but when it broke in, I had to bulk up my tools with thick wraps of electrical tape (which is not permitted by AT&T) to keep my can wrench and security tool from falling out while climbing poles, attics, etc. Recently, the clip system began failing as it won't latch. Every time I sit in my truck or lay down to work on a wall plate under a desk or something, it falls off. Not jammed or worn, the spring loaded catch just no longer seats all the way. I liked it because I could keep the belt clip on my pants and take the pouch off easy, but I guess doing that 2+ times a day has taken its toll.
@adude7050
@adude7050 2 жыл бұрын
@@LeSedici At the price difference though could you try another or could you just use the clip system in conjunction with an over belt.
@LeSedici
@LeSedici 2 жыл бұрын
@@adude7050 The failure is in the tool pouch side, so the entire thing would have to be replaced, no way to repair without removing rivets and a donor pouch. But the fact that several of my tools I use all day don't fit well and slip out through the bottom, whether brand new or broken in, is enough of a reason to not buy one again. If the pouch was a perfect fit for my tools, I would buy another just to give it another chance, but if it broke a second time I'd never buy another.
@adude7050
@adude7050 2 жыл бұрын
@@LeSedici Fair enough I mentioned the option I did to lower the repetitive use of the clip but if the pouch isn't working them pass it by.
@OnRappel
@OnRappel 2 жыл бұрын
That "kickstand" on the back isn't actually a kickstand, it's a "pocket pad" and it's meant to be slipped into your pocket while wearing it on your belt. That will completely eliminate the issues you complained about with this pouch (swinging and pulling outwards).
