@@PureAmerican653 have you checked out the Velocity Rogue 4.5 backpacks? They have straps on the side of the bag that could fit your bulk gun! Very handy for us glaziers. Especially doing commercial work

@@josephle4679 i hadn't ever even heard of that brand before. Looks like a really nice brand. I just stuck with veto its what my dad always had and I always liked his bags. still really happy with mine but i will probably upgrade to the pro pack roller eventually.

Great vid. Would love to see your must have hand tools. I’m a beginner in glazing and starting my collection of tools
@dinomash3792 жыл бұрын
Good video..... but I didn't see a 2/4 ft. level, a laser level, a mallet, hack saw, files, vinyl scissors, vinyl roller, nylon bar(stick), knee pads, regular hammer, and long knife. I'm sure you got all that in with your other tools.... again, great set up.. And yes, that is heavy, more than 45 lbs... mine is close to 50 lbs and I don't have a much a you do.
@PureAmerican6532 жыл бұрын
Haha yes, it’s changed quite a big since then. I have actually added a 9” level, used to keep a laser level on the outside strap until i lost it unfortunately, there is a mallet in it in this video, i carry one file with a flat and a round side, i recently added a roller, i now have a claw hammer in the back with my flat bar and i keep a long knife in the side slot. So good suggestions! Its all stuff that i ended up adding or already had haha

Where does one learn glazing, is there a school or is it all on the job training?
@PureAmerican6533 жыл бұрын
I believe glaziers on demand has started or is going to start a school soon. Check them out on Facebook and join the Glazier nation page on Facebook. I learned everything on the job
@ggsdude12 жыл бұрын
Mostly on the job...there are glazing schools through the Union but theyre only 6 weeks (where i am) each level. The school kind of gives you the jist of what you will encounter most on the job but if you dont do it enough when youre back to work you do kinda forget, especially if its something new and/or if companies only like putting certain people doing specific tasks and dont give some of the inexperienced guys reps to learn which is really sad in this trade cuz it happens a fuckin lot. Then when you get your ticket for journeyman you get thrown into tasks that you didnt get much reps on and they expect you to go fast at it and they talk shit if youre not quick or good at it yet...ive had a few coworkers that fell through the cracks like that and its pretty shitty to see cuz they were eager to learn and ask to be trained in specific areas to be a better glazier...few good companies plenty of shitty ones, and plenty of "super glaziers".
