Agree on the camera rear view mirror. As you said, your eyes don't refocus when you first look at the mirror and vehicles are always closer than they appear no matter how close you set the adjustment. Rarely use mine. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic monitor are critical in the C8 as you can see nothing when trying to back up. I use the front camera all the time. Never want another car without HUD. No one outside of a C8 owner will ever know or care whether you have a 1, 2, or 3 LT since they all look identical. Only the 3LT has Napa leather interior (surprisingly when you opt for GT2 seats on a 2LT they have Napa leather. A 2LT with upgraded wheels is probably the best bang for the buck at $74K and you won't really miss the extra 5 HP or sound since about the only time you hear the louder exhaust is on startup. On the top side a 3LT, performance exhaust, upgraded wheels, black rockers, two tone interior, front and rear spoilers is only $80K. Hard for me to understand why people pay more or buy the Z51 which outside of a track is meaningless.

I also have the 1LT , Love it. And I have zero visibility issues. Because I adjusted the side mirrors properly. By pushing them OUT so when viewing them you can not see the side or rear of the C8. Try it out and you will see that setting gives you no blind spot.

Replace the side mirrors with Paragon blue-tint mirrors with convex on the driver's side. You will not believe the improvement in rear visibility, plus the blue tint substantially reduces headlight glare. Takes 15 minutes to install...

I went with a 2022 Amplify Orange 1LT HTC. Convertibles come with the rear view camera, and being able to drop the top with the touch of a button was way more important to me than the 2LT amenities would have been. I have the performance exhaust, the carbon flash wheels, the Z51 front splitter, and the Z51 spoiler in carbon flash. I think the all black interior looks great with the AO exterior. If I bought another C8, I would definitely go with the front end lift on any trim level... I have scraped the splitter many times.

I bought a C8 Z51 Convertible for msrp. It is a 1LT. I love it. Had a 2LT C7. Only thing I wish I had was blind spot monitoring.

Saw this video months ago before I even had my C8. I still went with a 1LT and have no regrets at all. The only feature I would’ve liked to have had would’ve been the digital rear view mirror screen but there are aftermarket options for under $100 that can be swapped in. If you’re on the fence, just grab the 1LT and save the $7K.

12000 miles in, and I love my 1LT HTC. I use it to go everywhere, work, Costco, you name it, I don’t have any issues with the visibility at all, and I am 100% happy that I didn’t get the 2LT. The Z51 is a great value, especially if you want the sport exhaust anyway.

I ordered and bought a new 1 LT for $64,200. Just red calipers, performance exhaust and $995 body colored side, front and read moldings. Never been a Corvette guy till this C8 model. It is a good car for under $65,000.

Backup camera is a must for me & front end lift too. On new cars options put a reasonable priced car right into the stratosphere quick. Wheels I'd get base & buy aftermarket later,theyre not that special anyways.

Completely agree with everything you said except (personal preference) on heads-up display. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. I also had a C7 (1LT, though) before the C8 (and ZL1, I owned between them). I would 100% buy the 1LT again. Even in daily conditions (picked up 11-11-22 and currently have 3400 miles), I find no faults with it. I would say the sweet spot is the 1LT or 2LT trims This is coming from someone roughly 5'10" and weighing 210ish (though I look like 190-195lbs). I don't have any complaints about the seats either.

Look into a Chamberlain - myQ Smart Garage Control. It uses an App and your WiFi to open & close the garage door. Should be accessible from the screen when using CarPlay and eliminating the need for the opener on the visor. They’re like 25-30 bucks… …at the very least, you can just use your phone as the opener instead of adding a button on your visor…but C8 owners are now reporting it doesn’t show up on the CarPlay screen…that’s disappointing…

Odd you say about the heated seats, we have a Cadillac SRX and it’s slow warming up. But when it gets hot it is hot, compared to two Lincoln Navigators we had they were instant heat. And believe me in Southern Ontario I appreciate fast heated seats.

I'm a Scotsman. Value is critical. Acceleration floats my boat; drag raced for years. Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, the Corvette C8 1LT is the best value in the history of the automobile. The mag ride and exhaust were good added value and I did blow a grand on the non=performing RMM. This is my 4th Vette.

Hi I have a C8 23 corvette got it used it was certified GM after a week I decided to check the oil and it was over full called the service department where I bought it they said bring it in they checked it and found it over full they decided to drain the oil and see how much was in it 7 1/2 gt they put oil back in at 6qts it read full on the dip stick went ahead and added 1 1/2 qts contact GM no answer almost 2 1/2 weeks no body has a answer has anyone else had this problem?

I’ve heard (eg,SmokingTire channel) that the magnetic ride control on the C8 is phenomenally good, and in comfort mode rivals a Mercedes S class or a Bentley. Did you get that (I didn’t see it on your options list)?

Correct. 2017 federal mandate "all passenger vehicles must be equipped with a backup camera". The C8 reverse camera is the best in the business IMHO

I do like a hud. Not a huge deal but nice. Same with vented seats The bsm and cross traffic should be stock other than that. Who cares about the garage opener and the camera mirror as many say it is not in focus. You have to shift from distance view to close view. the performance recorder is nice but should be cheaper. this package should be like like 2k in my worthless opinion

Went the same route. Don’t like the HUD and have learned to NEVER. trust blind spot monitors, period. They can kill you if you trust them. Get the wide angle side mirrors and you are good to go with no blind spot.

I wish there were more "al-la-carte" options available in the 1LT. I know it makes it easier on the assembly line and MAYBE cheaper to package all the stuff together in a package (2LT) BUT, after 1.5 years and 12,000 miles there are some things in the 2LT I just DONT need. NAVIGATION, PDR, 14 Speaker BOSE. Other things that dont work as well as I had hoped...HEATED/COOLED seats. Would not consider them adequate. Give me HUD, REAR VIEW CAMERA MIRROR (you start to get used to it), BLISS. front cameras, and two-tone GT2 seat availability. Look at the PARAGON parabolic mirrors for better side view.

Well the seats are 100% leather. Since the C6 only the 3LT has had a full leather dash. Unfortunately, the C6-C8 if you got the 3LT you have a 50% chance of it bubbling & stretching. The C8 has the best faux leather look for the 1 & 2LT trims. Most passengers can't tell it's faux. It's like a composite/rubber/plastic texture.

I thought it was kind of fun to see a guy crack a beer and talk about his new car. If it is an amazing value or something to regret, as promulgated in the title, I guess that depends on if you consider this perfected technology at pretty much the end of the gasoline powered era, or a lot of money for obsolete technology because of the emergence of viable electric cars. Personally I think the wanna be a jet jockey front seat lay out takes the whole thing too seriously, but I suppose it is following the market. I own a C5, bought because it was a convertible where I wouldn't be looking straight into the windshield header when I sat up, and wouldn't have to peer under to see traffic lights changing. My other alternative that accommodated my little over six feet frame was German, but I didn't want to tangle with the prices for those good German parts imported from another economy, where workers are paid differently, so went with the chevy yank tank. And, as it turns out, I will need good access to used parts, as the electronics get old and need renewing. You see Gm limits the ability for the aftermarket to copy the electronic circuits, and has zero interest is supporting old cars. So , after explaining that I was not driven to get a corvette because of any kind of gear head desires beyond recognition of a well engineered platform that fit, and the top went down, I have to say that I appreciate a car designed only for fun, quite a contrast from my older, more spartan, classic sports car ownerships. However, I write this on the same day that I heard the reports of about fourteen deaths from the severe storms in Northern California , which are associated with the climate damage that resulted from burning too much fossil fuel. not the first reports of death and economic destruction from the new oncoming climate reality, but I can't remain blind that change must occur, even if it is just the temporary change from ICE cars to electric power. I will leave it to the reader to measure the value of a new C8, or even how much morality to attach to consumption. Returning to cracking beer and talking about your new car, I was once leaving a party and congratulated the owner on his new truck parked outside, because at the time , a Cummings diesel powered 4X4 truck was thought to be the pinnacle of the pick up truck mountain. The owner of the big white behemoth in front of us gladly started explaining his truck in full detail, sparing nothing, staring with only he and the service manger at the dealership had such a hard to get truck, and then went on to recite all the things about the truck, towing capacity, the axle, everything. I didn't mind, I like stuff like that, but it did take him about fifteen minutes to get through all the details of why he loved his new truck. When he finished and turned to get into his truck, his wife, who had been waiting patently for him to finish, came close and with a smile, whispered conspiratorially in my ear, " I hate that thing".
