This movie could have easily been made with a regular actor instead of Rajni but it's refreshing to see that the star power doesn't overshadow the script and storytelling. We have seen Denzel Washington do such stuff time and again in Hollywood and he has perfected the art of keeping it minimalistic and simple without his stardom over powering the content driven films. Credit must be given to Rajni for keeping it understated like Denzel and respecting what the film needed him to do.

The comments section shows how divided the audience are. Either there's someone who's happy that they are not seeing the same commercial cliched formulas or there are people who are unhappy thta there's no same commercial cliched formula. Only when such simple m9vies get accepted, the so called stars will do more of such movies and story will be at the forefront over stardom. So happy that thaliavar chose this movie. I personally felt no lag anywhere and i was happy to see him be subtle and still entertain...

It could also be a commentary or popular cinema. There are amazing actors but the ones we are beholden to are the "superstars". Hats off to Rajni Sir to take on this kind of movie in his winter years. I will watch tonight but my concerns were whether the cast would be used to full potential

Unfortunately, they really weren't utilised fully. It's a shame but I felt that the big names also gave away any plot twists. As an example, not far into the movie, you realise who Rana is going to be. I feel it was too much for a new director to take this on. It's a shame given the names who were willing to leave their star status to take part.

I knew this was a director's movie going in, I knew this wasn't going to be the typical Rajni movie - all fine. But there is too much importance placed on getting big names that gives too much away. You know who Rana is going to be, Amitabachan just shows up in a few scenes pretty much showing the same emotion, and the direction felt very amateurish. The helicopter just lands at the right place? And there is time to reverse drift a forklift truck? Really? I understand the intent, but the execution was poor, predictable twists...so basically it's no longer a twist and uneven tone of slow mo mass moments that looked silly and forced. Its great to see Rajni as always and him doing different roles and as such it feels like a wasted opportunity by the director. Let's move onto Coolie.

Instead of Amitabh Bachchan, that role should have been given to Mammooty, then he would have completely owned the role. Amitabh is a legendary actor but take him into another language then he becomes fish out of water, he couldn’t adapt to the new language.

Just because the content is important/moving doesn’t mean the movie is good. Just because it’s not content driven and it relies on mass moments doesn’t mean its a bad movie. Jai Bhim and Jawan/Jailer are such examples. BR is not wrong. If gets hate because of this, then shame.

Movie is Good to watch,content is good. Inflicted mass scenes, fights may be avoided. Reg. encounters, the story is believable,but scenes of corporate villain is incredible.villain plans for brutal murder of an activist is not reliable.

Atleast Jailer gave us some highs, this was pretty bland and didn’t feel like a Rajini movie at all. Anirudh music mediocre at best. Sadly his music in commercial films sound the same, similar bgm for emotional scenes, mass scenes.

The movie is neither emotionally gripping nor action packed, filled with a vast and eclectic cast from the length and breadth of the country, but none of them get a proper scene to shine, even visually the movie looks so dull and underwhelming. First half looked decent, but second half was outright boring. Noble intentions doesn't lead to a good movie. Overall, the movie is strictly average

First of all, tell me why you care about his retirement. It’s his wish. No one has right to say that. And let me remember he is living a peaceful life while entertaining us with his charisma and positive aura which I've never seen in other actors. He does movies that his fans and general audience love (and I don't wanna talk about those useless FAN WARS because you and I both know how stupid that is). And what did you just say, “It's neither Gnanavel movie or a Rajini movie”? Well, it may not be a Rajini movie but its of course a Gnanavel film based on his content-wise filmmaking and storytelling. And you know what everyone loves the movie (and I'm not saying that there are no disappointing sequences in the film which are indeed ordinary) but yet it's overall a perfect movie, not a BORING or the WORST movie.
