Vévaki - Edda (Full Album 2020)

"Edda" is a compilation of various poems and stories from the Poetic Edda, or "Elder Edda" put to music. These stories are part of the biggest collection of anonymous Old Norse poetry dating as far back as 800 AD, and have inspired many artists and musicians throughout the ages. This album seeks to bring to life some of these tales, and to help the listener forge a connection with them.

There are some people so in tune with what's around them that the slight change in the enviroment, or a certain song can literally take you to another place. There is some music that heals My soul, and makes me feel whole again. This is Def one of them. It's not just music, it stirs my soul up in a good way. The taggleharpa is something our ancestors knew well, it send goosebumps across my skin, and makes me feel alive and connected.

Reading either the Poetic or Prose Edda to this gives them a deeper meaning and allows one to understand more then they would if this album was not on. At least for me this whole album has helped me in my Nordic Studies and just having a better mindset in general. Hail the God's! Hail the Goddesses! Hail the ancestors!
