I just got mine today. I was so fascinated at the construction that the cleanup was not even an issue! Tomorrow I plan on putting it to really good use.

Cool, I have some riveting to do that I've been putting off because it's a pain in the ass to hold the material with just a hammer 'press'. Fair price.

My son just bought me this press cos he couldn’t stand all the hammering for my leather work. I have to say this. Is the best piece of kit I’ve used in a long time. Most of my leather tools fit in the press so it’s a breeze to do the stitching holes, no matter how thick the leather is.

This is literally the reason I bought this. My wife could not stand my hammering

Excellent arbor press... I've been looking for an inexpensive one.

Nice , I have the same one. It's a 1 ton press. I use it for leather. For punching holes and setting snaps and rivets. Works great. Best price too. I highly recommend it. It has a 10mm hole that fits all my tools. Cheers from Canada.

I wonder if you could use one of these things with a small-calibre, short-cartridge Lee Loader, to press the cartridge/projectile in rather than hammering it.

I have an original from probably the 40s. Useful for some things. I also worked in the "tool room" for a couple years. 👍

You did not mention the two bolts in the top front, that either press against a gib strip, or bear directly on the geared rack (?). As you show the operation, the press appears to have a fair amount of slop sideways and/or forward and backward. If I was to snug up those bolts, how much slop is left? Is it a few mils or less, or is it a lot more than that? My thought was using it with a punch and die, but the two parts have to be accurately aligned to work.

Beautiful Press ! OH! $47 currently ! Thanks for reviewing. Yeah, gettin' set up for some LeatherWorking Hobby. At least it comes with the Punches! Thanks for review that.

For 1 thing it's a 1 ton press 2:39 not 1/2 ton. I bought one and the ram is not square with the base.

can it be locked when pressed down?, for glue purposes

No, you can't.

Could you give me the dimensions for the hole in the ram? I want to use this for clamping a guitar fret press and the fret press caul has a diameter of 1cm. They doesn't give any dimensions at their website for this particular press. Thanks in advance
@jasonjenkins78253 ай бұрын
The hole is supposedly 10mm, 12mm for the 2 and 3 ton version. I've got the machine and now waiting on the punches I bought that have 10mm shafts.
@AutodidactEngineer Жыл бұрын
Do they make a 10" version?

Any idea why the ram is moving forward and backward on me? It moves about 1/4” and I think it’s messing up my rivets and snaps. The ram won’t just go straight down. I tightened all four bolts.

adjust the center bolt in the front that sets the back lash on the rack gears.

if you go to 8:27 of this video by Brothers Make (kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXvRh3SHptCXmbMsi=osucCfitsaLibqia&t=507) will this arbor press do the same thing as this video linked above? in other words if I'm trying to put hdpe plastic into a mold and flatten it like these guys, will this arbor press apply enough pressure to flatten it in a mold?
