Thank you for this information. What would be the best way to temporarily mount this to a exposed ceiling joist for the sole purpose of lifting wallboard onto a panel lifter? i.e. have the sling on one end of the 9' panel and a person lifting the other end? So the weight would not exceed 20kg at most. Thank you!

20kg isn't much, so an eye bolt would be sufficient if that's all you use it for. It's best to spread the weight across as many joists as possible for lifting anything heavy, and I personally would run a board across at least 2 joists if I plan on lifting anything at all.

I already purchased one like yours so did not have the opportunity to support your channel with your link. Also thanks for using the strap to lift what looks like well over 100 pounds. I have purchased an ebike that is too heavy for me to handle up and down the stairs as I have serious arthritis in hips (but I am able to ride a bike). I thought I would use the strap to connect through two places on the frame and then just hoist it up and down to my second floor apartment balcony as needed. It is about 70 pounds. I plan to hang the hoist to the end of a 1/2" hex bolt 6" long going through a 4x6 wood beam 16 feet up. It is the Aventon Sinch.2 ebike which is their folding bike. It is too hard for me to fold so I will be hoisting it up unfolded. Do you think that would work? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks for any help.

That should work fine. I think if I was doing it, and I wanted to get fancy, I'd fasten a unistrut trolley system to the 4x6 so I could wheel it over and onto the balcony. Something like this: www.amazon.com/Fuperoo-Wheel-Trolley-Assembly-Rollers-Bearing/dp/B0CL9LV37C
