These are okay, a reasonable set for the price. I would get some premium versions of the ones you use the most but these can be handy in an oil change shop.

If you take a thin sheet of sandpaper and fold it in half with grit side out, you can wedge it between the filter and socket and get a ton of grip.

I have a few of these type of filter sockets. I don't like the cheap square knock outs where the 3/8 drive goes in. The walls are so thin that the torque doesn't really transfer well. The one that I like are the ones with a 3/8 drive socket actually welded on the top. Those are much stronger. Another problem with these are that filters tend to get stuck in the socket and then you have to pound in a screwdriver into the filter to get it out. This leaves a tremendous mess. I drilled about a 1/2 inch hole between the center and edge so that I can put a flat head screwdriver to pry it out. This works very well and no mess. Finally, that universal claw wrench is god awful. You need to use something like 3 to 4 times the amount of force relative to a socket to remove a filter. And it's so flimsy that it takes too much time to use. Lisle makes a much better universal 63600 filter remover that uses much less force maybe only twice the force relative to a socket.

It seems to be a good value given its price point; I have cast aluminum ones for my personal vehicle, but for the occasional use, these could fit the purpose. The center socket drive reinforcement welded to the stamped steel seems to be better than some I've seen in some part stores and the socket included could highly useful in some situations for other use. I bought the impact socket you reviewed previously reviewed by you in an earlier review, was impressed with the quality at the price point it is. Given that, the fact I can't always use my universal adjustable jaw oil filter wrench, I probably will purchase this set. The price point makes a good value.

I have one of those 3 jaw filter wrenches from Craftsman, old USA made. It also works in both directions and the quality is amazing. However, I also need to add that although I do not recall the price paid, the new ones from SB&D cost $16 (lesser quality from what I have seen compared to the one I have), which is 1/4 the price of that whole set you have. I do not use those type of sockets (aka wrenches) for oil filters, but I can sure see a value there is you are looking for a master set for occasional DIY use. Although I would rather just buy the size I need at that point, or a quality pliers style.

Been very interested in trying that Vevor brand and have had my eye on some of Their socket sets on Amazon/eBay, for the price they don’t look half bad. Im sure they’re probably on par or maybe even a little better than Harbor freight sets 👀 they almost look similar to the Capri sockets sets but who knows. Ive almost been tempted to reach out to them or just try some of their products, they seem like good quality for the value.

I just bought a Vevor mid torque 1/2" impact wrench. Seems quite decent but I just got it this morning so I can't comment on performance yet.

I wouldn't call it a master set because there still the Oil Filter Sockets missing that are to removed the plastic oil filter housing caps that take the Paper filter inserts @Catus Maximus

I would not use on European vehicles like BMW and Mercedes Benz. They are not strong enough to remove the plastic oil filter housing caps and will slide and strip the caps. For those vehicles I use the Hazet wrenches. Most other vehicles I use an oil filter wrench pliers or the Lisle wrench.

A socket is technically a wrench so there's nothing wrong with the wording on the case.
