the little "heater plug" is the temperature sensor. the heating coils are around the chamber just outside the white liner. :)

I wanted to start vacuum casting. Just worried doing it in my home. In your experience should it be a concern? Or is it fine ?

So far the casting inside hasn't been to big an issue. I'd recommend using as much ventilation as possible but I have practically 0 and irs been ok so far. The burn out process can get smokey but I'm not using a burn out over. Most important, have a fire extinguisher at the minimum, and try to get fire resistant materials near by. Also water. A piece of molten silver might catch something a spark, but its slow. It seems fast in the moment, but if your calm water will bring it to room temp in seconds and solve the issue. Of course there are risks, but I've found it to be doable so far with out too many annoyances

I know, I wish I had better options Being crippled I've had to build this from nothing, after I got sober and stopped living under a bridge. Unfortunately rent here isn't possible with ssdi, so I have to make some choices. Do I want a long slightly less painful life under a bride being told I should get a job every day, or do I want short painful life with a roof and a cat. Hopefully something will change quickly I only Bagan this part recently and perhaps I'll get lucky and be able to afford the cost prohibitive health safety equipment soon
