You might have a problem with your rainfall measurements being accurate if you get a 4-5+Inches of snowfall, especially if you have a strong wind with it. Also the wind speed and direction if it freezes and the parts get frozen in place. I have a Ambient weather station which I have using for 2 years, added a lightning detector and a separate wireless temperature probe which I have in one of my beehives in the brood box so i can monitor the internal temperature of the colony. It has been working great so far.

Good points! I have BroodMinder sensors to check my bees and they work very well!

Snow Update....i live in So. Ariz. And were lucky to get just a couple of inches of snow at one time. We do get freezing temps. So if it rains and freezes overnight then the rainfall and wind speed/direction can freeze, but here it doesn't last long. As for the wireless temperature probe in the one beehive, it works very well, i can tell when the bees cluster moves as the temperature will change. @@JCsBees

How will you use the information from your weather station for keeping bees or gardening? So you get all of this information but what good is it for?
@CastleHives11 ай бұрын
For me, knowing even the barometric pressure is handy. Storms on the way, I leave my Bees alone. Also, certain treatments can only be done in specific temperatures, so it is handy for that.
@JCsBees11 ай бұрын
@slava I am about 50 miles from the closest news channel in a very rural area and a lot of the time the predicted weather is different than what the weather mans says. Having the weather station allows me to knw exactly how much rain we got, or how hard the wind is blowing. As a farmer, all of this information is handy. I'm sure you've heard a predicted rainfall and wondered if that's really the amount you got in your area, this device takes the guess work out. I now find myself comparing the predicted weather to what I actually get.

Hi thanks for video. Do you know how long the display will run on batteries only?
@JCsBees6 ай бұрын
Hello. I do not know how long the battery last but I will say the solar panel has kept it charged with no down time since I set it up.

@@JCsBees Thx - I was asking about the display, not the weather station itself.

Oh, I'm sorry. That I have plugged in and not running on the batteries but batteries is an option.

@@JCsBees Vevor replied to me and said display will go 12 months on batteries, but you can’t run WiFi on batteries only mode and display dims after 15 seconds.

Question: does the rain cup have to be emptied manually? And does this mean I need to mount the weather station within arms reach?
@JCsBeesАй бұрын
No. The rain cup has a hole in the bottom so it empties itself. I love this weather station!!

@@FamKeijsers Snooped around in my Android Play Store and found a app called 'Weather Station' that uses location services to connect to the nearest weather station to display and chart in nice graphics all the same data. When I'm home it connects to my station. Now I'm struggling to figure out the correct setting for the barometer's altitude setting. The guide isn't very intuitive.
