I have the Quickjack, you said this unit each side weights 200 pounds? The quick jack is about 76 pounds per side for my BL-5000SLX 5000 pound lift capacity. It looks like you are lifting the car by the floor pan at the 52:54 mark of the video, that is not a good idea, you need to be out by the pinch welds were the vehicles jack goes to change a flat tire, Quickjack sells lift blocks for pinch welds so they don't get damaged. Does this jack not offer lift blocks for pinch welds? Look at the Vevor website and they show lifting father out at the pinch welds. A vehicle with a frame would be a little farther inward because you would be lifting at the frame rails but a unibody car like your Ford the jacks should be farther outside. The way you have them the car could be easier to tip off the jacks.

I hope I found something good to lift on, but it looks like you're right. Agree 100%. Yes...they sure are heavy! The blocks and columns it comes with aren't designed to work on the pinch weld seam "thing". I apologize for my lack of terminology. I wonder if I could just cut a slit in the blocks to work well with those lift points...or if it would ruin them for other use 🤔. I'll check if they're sold on Amazon?? Thanks again for the help/ advice.

@@Mr.Handy-ish You could always purchase the pinch weld lift blocks that Quickjack sells but I think you would be alright cutting grove down the center with a router on your blocks, they should be fine doing that.

@mustangecoboosthpp3869 okay...I actually just found some on Amazon that should work perfectly!! $17 for a set of 4. Seriously, thank you very much for pointing it out. I'm not a mechanic, but have been learning by doing...pushing my abilities the last few years. It's wild that you can save sooo much money doing all the work yourself even after buying tools!

After the video and you let the ford down, did the tank overfilled?

Why do I get the feeling Mr. "I don't know, let's give it a try" is going to be in the news for "crushed under vehicle"? Hoping for his sake he was much more diligent with instructions off camera. Nope, looks like he didn't. keep adding fluid, liquid does't compress, "hydraulics" where's it going to go when you try to put it down if the tank is over filled? Did you leave the cap off and get oil all over the place? Stay safe.

Do you recommend getting this Vevor lift? I can’t decide between this Vevor and the quick jacks I’ve read some issues with this lift but from the videos I’ve watched looks like a good option and cheaper
@Mr.Handy-ish4 ай бұрын
I literally have my first project up on it right now. Should have it down today with another going up (Fusion and Trailblazer). I'd like to hold off on recommending until I've used it a bit more.

Man the quickjack safety latches are betther than the vevor. The vevor you have to reach under the lift. Pinch point if something goes wrong. Quickjack are on the outside can hit it with foot to undo locking latch. One plus with the vevor it comes with the adapter and an extension to make the unit longer. Quickjacks are optional.
@LJimenez01853 ай бұрын
@@jshan8205 yeah, the only reason I want the to get the Vevor is because it is cheaper but at the same time it looks like it is a company that’s will not stand behind their products, I’ve read a lot of bad experiences with warranty I’ll probably get the Quickjacka instead at least I know I’ll get a better warranty on them.

Thanks to both of you for doing more research than I did!...and helping others make an informed decision. So far so good with the Vevor lift...still early! The portability is already proving so useful!

Mr Handy-ish, how is the lift working for you? I’ve had the quickjack for about 5 yrs, with casual use, and I’ve exclusively on our vehicles. So far, happy with them but they are heavy. And I love that the Vevor lifts straight up. What’s the total height on the lift?
@Mr.Handy-ish3 ай бұрын
Up to 26 inches...it comes with lifting blocks or adjustable columns to put on the lift. I like the portability but each side still weighs about 200 pounds. Hook up is easy. I have the Fusion up AGAIN for more front end work...control arms and wheel bearings. It's so nice being able to creeper under the car!! I've used them 6 times already. Others have made good comments about the quick jack, too...I'm sure they both have pros-cons.

What’s the max lifting point spread with extension? Looking for 72-24”.
Quick answer is yes, it should work for you. Check specs and there's a question in Q/A about max spread between lift points. You'd be using the columns to get full lift height.
