Motor choices were always up to the boat buyer. Vexus installs the motor the customer wants. That includes, Mercury, Yamaha and Suzuki. BRP screwed the pooch by discontinuing Evinrude. Boats with those motors are very hard to sell and parts are all on back order. This was not a Vexus issue. Now if we can get Vexus to pump up the HP on each AVX they will take the Aluminum boating industry by storm.

I have a 2021 AVX1980. I was told the HP issue is about floatation. The 2080 was 4" longer than the 1980. It was all behind the drivers seat. Which gave enough floatation for a 50hp upgrade.

What month did the V2 design start for the standard 1980 and 2080 model boats? I know the 1980C had it first. As I test ran the first one. Was waiting until I could get dual consoles and the wide bow. Love this boat and its ride.

Please put more JDM motors on your boats. The previous brand put a ton of Evinrudes on the transom, and now you can't get parts for them. Can't go wrong with JDM (Yamaha or Suzuki).
