It's a joke to say that GHK is the most realistic AK. It never was. Its external is just copied from AEG.

@@zigun9989 for a long time it was the most realistic one. There are aspects about the VFC which are not the most realistic either, like the fake rivets on the center of the receiver or how the gas block and FSB are fixed on to the barrel. However I think these changes make sense when you consider how it is very easy to screw up populating an AK barrel without a barrel population jig, which most airsofters don't have.

@@zigun9989the akm v3 has the 1.1 from the real akm. Not anymore aeg body and fully compatible with real akm parts for the body as the dust cover

I just hope AKM and other models will also get made by VFC! I already have enough of 74 and 100 series AKs, and I would like to have more classic AKM or AKMS. Maybe even the original AK Type 1 would be just amazing to have as GBBR.

I think the AK74M was chosen because it is the most flexible in terms of what you can build with them, in the context of most modern AK builds. I'd love to see them make 7.62 variants as well, maybe even the 9mm ones like KP9 or Vityaz.

@@ynstactical That is true, with minimum parts changed, they can do AK-100 series, and even AKS-74. I am sure that if it will have at least some sales, and it will since there are currently no good picks in GBBR AK world, other variants will follow.

I hope they come out with a wood furniture version, also a full travel kit for the bolt would be nice, debating on buying a WE AK74 or waiting for VFC to drop

i already have a TM AKM, i'm planning to buy the VFC M16A2, but goddamn, VFC themselves making me preemptively regret choosing their M16A2 with this upcoming AK74M.

I have 4 GHK AK builds... A Draco, a 105 modernized, an AKSU and an AMD65... I'm excited to some day replace them all with VFC's offerings in the future. My GHKs are old enough that they avoided the QCpocolypse of GHK, but I've just been so impressed by VFC's recent offerings that I just trust them a lot more as a company, and knowing that they will keep churning out new models at a rate that dwarfs even peak WE before they went nuts and did nothing but weird speedloaders and double barrel pistols nobody asked for.

New information no, but someone did tell us the AK105 will be its separate release, and not a DNA barrel swap kit like some speculated.

Yes, its a 14mm ccw threaded barrel , with a 24mm cw adapter .

@@lettuce8897 yes so far it looks like the VFC will have standard -14mm threading on the barrel for your usual airsoft muzzle devices.

interesting decision to have the barrel made out of two pieces, i suspect they did it for future models, such as aks74 and 74u and ak105. The idea being that they manufacture the section closer to the receiver for all of their ak's, and the other sections with varying length for specific models. It will make a conversion easier too, if you have for example an ak74m and you want 105 for cqb, you don't need to buy a whole new barrel, just a part of it.

I think fair to say, the most proliferated weapon of the past century is going to be wildly popular. We're definitely seeing those kinda sales trends too so far with the preorder!

Nah ak's have been gaining airsoft popularity for quite a few years now in response to everyone and their mother having m4 plataforms and wanting to be "different"
