Anyone asked for teen drama? No? Too bad!
And no, I don't know why they suddenly look 10 years older, IT JUST SORTA HAPPENED (and people thought they were 20-somethings in Parties Are For Losers, how times have changed)
But yeah, the soap opera continues (and by continues I mean goes into a flashback for 90% of the song), now with a messy electronic-ish sound. This one is not as intense as PAFL and the pv is a fair bit simpler, but hey, they can’t all be winners lol
I can’t say I’m pleased with how the audio came out - for some reason this instrumental was a huge struggle to make and it still ended up being muddy… Though I tried to make the tuning a bit clearer, since a lot of people find my JPNloid stuff hard to understand (big thanks to poetfog for their tuning advice)! I’m not sure whether it’s an improvement or not, since I’m not a native speaker, but I hope it’s at least a little bit better? Also please excuse the awkward mixing - flower absolutely refused to cooperate
Overall this is definitely the hardest one I’ve had to work with in terms of sound and I hate it with all of my angry little heart (but hey, at least I had a lot of fun with the video so that’s swell)
Btw if the song sounds like Happy Girl it’s because it was initially built on the same chord progression - the more you know🌠

The original FD file I had for it got messed up, which is why it took me so long to put it up (sorry for that)! I couldn't fully restore it, but I tried to make it sound as close to the one used in the video as I could. It's still slightly different, but I hope it works! It's a pretty huge fuck-up on my part, but I hope my providing the tuned VSQX will make up for it. Sorry again for the inconvenience, I'll make sure a thing like this won't happen again!

So, basically, she wasn't always the badass bean we saw in Parties Are For Losers (She even seems to be kind of a nerd at the start), she didn't even get invited to parties back then. But then she decides to go just to spite her overprotective brother. Beating stuff up with a bat wasn't even her thing. It's seems that that comes more from the guy she likes, who has some problem with that town What I don't really understand are the scenes that seem to be from the present. I think they are from after the "meat" incident, but I don't really understand what they refer to. I hope this at least helps those who didn't understand the story

Edit: I've looked more into this and my new findings are in a dif post, but you will need to read this to understand. Read the corrections first tho. As best I can figure off the video and audio alone, and I'm just gonna come up with names, the white haired girl, henceforth Kami, is an introvert who may or may not be imprisoned for something, the redhead, now Fred, is an adrenaline junkie who goes to parties to hit on people, get drunk, etc etc to avoid facing his problems head-on, and Mabel, the brown-haired girl in the sweater, who got supernatural powers.....somehow, mayhaps a human experiment run by the government, but she just wanted to do her own thing and be a generally good dude, and used her powers to break out, but the people testing on her couldn't let her roam free so they're hunting her down. The tall guy w the brown hair and tattoos, Roger, is the person responsible for keeping Kami safe, and despite being a generally chill guy, he still has to do his job. Also the government is Bigg Succ So Kami likes Fred, and Fred kinda likes her, and she asks Fred to help her get out and go to a party to get to know him better and just to have fun. Fred takes Kami out while Roger is sleeping on the job and takes her to a party. She gets separated from Fred only to find him hitting on another girl. Kami realizes that she's not in any official relationship with Fred and shouldn't be jealous but can't help it. She goes out back to vent, trashing the trashcans, where Fred finds her after looking for her for a bit, and he joins her, taking the chance to get his pent up emotions out as well. Kami realizes that despite her realization, there is still a connection between them and she did still enjoy getting out and partying. This starts becoming a regular event, and they end up making a pretty tight friend group that goes partying. After a while of this, and Kami getting better at blending into parties, Mabel shows up at a party and some dickhead picks a fight with her. She doesn't want to fight him but she's panicking and about to use her powers in self defence. Fred sees Mabel and they make eye contact, and Fred sees that she's dangerous and about to crack. Kami steps in with the bat Fred used at her first party and stands up for her, and the dick backs down. Fred introduces Kami, and Mabel joins the friend group. At one point, Roger comes and picks up Kami and sees Mabel's scarring. Mabel and Fred go to another party but ends up cracking this time and Mabel comforts him, though she's talking to herself more than to him. News of Mabel's scarring somehow gets transferred down to Bigg Succ, idk how, maybe Roger said something in passing or didn't think it was a big deal, or the dick from the first party ratted her out, etc etc, but they find out regardless. Bigg Succ raids their meeting place, most likely by tracking Roger's cell phone, and tries to get Mabel, dead or alive. Mabel realizes the danger her friends are in and she is forced to use her powers to lash out to protect her friends. Kami ends up getting knocked out and when she wakes up, Mabel and Bigg Succ are gone and she runs outside to find Fred smoking and thinking distantly. They decide that they need to do something, and they decide to meet up after getting some rest to start searching. Again, no clue if this is what Ferry had in mind for any of this, but this is what I've deduced so far.

Decided to fixate on this episode once again since it’s still musically a fucking banger, and I dunno, think I should just say that 2:05 is still is one of the sickest moments in the entire series. The foreshadowing through *I won’t ever bare my foolish heart, I’ll paint my face with BLOOD and DIRT the chain has broken I’VE NO RIGHT TO FEEL THIS HURT* oh my god it only gets better with each slow step into this guys downfall - which actually fr I really hope yura doesn’t actually have a downfall but convergence gave me such a pessimistic image of how the series will likely end for my man, plus he’s always been a self destructive character who only makes things worse for himself and others through his helpless spite)
