Had 2012 Vfr1200f , have a 2014 'f' ,both from new, generally get 46 to 50mpg and fill up around 170/180mls. Have pushed it to 205. If bike is gunned mpg will drop to mid 30s. have found once they're over 15000mls the mpg improves. Mine has around 25k on it, now 'run in'. Great engine and a fast, comfortable bike!

Thanks. My VFR hasn't done 13k miles yet, so it's good ter hear it'll do better shortly. I was using 3rd gear a lot on this ride, so could probably do better already. 170 miles on a tankful is pretty normal as far as I can see. Thanks for watching. 👍

I looked at one of these then bought a BMW K1300S instead. I'm glad I did! 46-50mpg and 180-200 miles between fill ups made touring about visiting places other than petrol stations.

I think the only downside is the fuel consumption up to now. I've toured on worse, an I have a habit of filling up every hundred miles or so anyway. Nevertheless, I'd agree on some tours it might be an issue. 👍👍 Thanks for watching.

Tank size / fuel economy is the only negative for me on what is a really nice well made bike. I asked the dealer about this when the bike first came out and his reply was 'how far can you go without needing to take a pee?' I said the same as when i am in my car! killed the conversation.

Cracking answer... I need more pees tho.. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I think you will get more mpg on a run. Large capacity bikes do not always give better mpg 'taking it easy'. My R1150RT would give low 50s taking it easy around the lanes, but would give 60 mpg on a run at 60 - 70 mph.

I'd agree with that as it happens. I spent a lot of this ride enjoying 3rd gear. 👍👍

Makes me very happy with the 56-59mpg from my GSF650. I could understand if youd hammered the bike which I know you dont. 39mpg just wouldnt do for me.

I had a lot of fun in 3rd gear... But I'm still not far off MCN figures. As it happens, the Kawasaki did between 45 and 50mpg.. so I'm not too worried. Thanks for watching. 👍👍

Correct me but is this good or bad,seems low.

It's a lil low.. but in the range I can live with. 👍 Thanks for watching.

KZbinr "graham vfr" gets about 44 mpg. Why is it that Honda make great sports touring bikes like the vfr 1200 and the Pan European then discontinue them?
@rayjones411527 күн бұрын
I think the VFR was discontinued cos it couldn't meet new emissions regulations.. 🤔🤔
@blackk1UK23 күн бұрын
I think it was discontinued because it didn't sell! A sports tourer that needs petrol every 130-150 miles is really not very good at the tourer bit. It's then too heavy as a Sunday afternoon blast sports bike that doesn't need the range. It needed another 40+ miles on its tank range or 40kg less weight.

The Pan European ran from 1990 to 2013 (across both the 1100 and 1300 models). That's a pretty good run for any model.

Yes the pan had a very good run. One of the pans main competition is the BMW RT. How long has this bike been in production.
