I’ve done over 100K on mine and it’s bullet proof. The little button on left bar is heated grips. I swap between Michelin and Metzler tyres depending upon price/availability. Enjoy your new steed 🎉

I'll try my usual Metzler roadtec 01's when these need replacing. That little button... Pressed it a couple of times and confirmed the grips warmed up nicely. Thanks for watching Jim. 👍

Enjoy I nearly bought a new one in 2012 but insurance quote was stupid, still my dream bike and now I have more no claims I could afford one but for the other half wanting a new bathroom and kitchen. That red with silver looks so good, sat nav steering stem mounted ball type is your best bet enjoy.

I was unpleasantly surprised by the insurance quote I got William. I was expecting twenty or thirty quid plus admin fee. They wanted a few hundred for the remaing few months. A years insurance was only a bit more. 😬😬😬

Fantastic hope you enjoy many years with your new bike you well deserve it be aware that is one heavy bike. I have recently down sized mine as i am not any younger but you seem well capable of handling that. Thanks for your great vlogs and keep em coming
@rayjones41155 күн бұрын
It is a heavy bike, but the weight is quite low down an less noticeable. In some ways, it's easier to manhandle than the Kawasaki. Hope youre enjoying your smaller bike. Better a small bike an still riding I think. Thanks for watching. 👍

Hi , I have owned my ZZR1200 since 2011 and will always keep it but the beginning of the year I bought a VFR1200 DCT. I sorned the Kwak and have just used the Honda this year including a two up European trip. Both fantastic bikes but if I could only keep one it would be the ZZR1200

Hi Ray yours is a 2010 model they didnt have a fuel range built into the dash and yours does not have traction control either not does it matter your tank size is 18.5ltr mine is a 2013 one which has a 19ltr tank and traction control the fuel range is in litre tells you how much is left in does not give you a range and also gives you your average litre useage.Mileage from tank well that depends on wright wrist action 130 to 150 miles yes they are a bit thristy but rest off the bike makes up for it clutch is heavy can make wrist painfull in heavy slow moveing traffic. Yes the brakes are the best i have had on bike the build on the bike is top notch aswell i am a big vfr fan still have the 750 models aswell had my 1200 3yr get on well with it loads off mid range grunt just check your rear remote adjuster for the shocker they are prone for siezing up spray wd40 inside the handle and keep working it often .
@rayjones41155 күн бұрын
Thanks for the advice Andy. I used a trip meter set to zero every time I fill up an use that as a guide for when to have a fuel stop. I like having trip a an trip b again too, along with heated grips again. I don't really want much more in the way of rider aids. I'll keep an eye on that adjuster.. thanks for the pointer, and for watching. 👍

@@rayjones4115 Another tip ray if your capeable i would strip down the rear shock linkage and dog bone and re grease all the link pins and bearings mine were bone dry and the bike had only done 7 thousand miles its now on 15500 miles i do the shock linkage once a year only takes about an hour.

Got yourself a lovely looking bike there Ray...You will soon get used to the way it behaves. I recently got some 'blingy' levers for the RT and instantly noticed a real keen-ness to the front brake. I recon there was a slight change to the pivot point relationship which suits me fine as i prefer that...maybe your levers have done the same. You might want to keep an initial eye on your fuel consumption / range as I think the tank size was only 18 / 19 litres.
@rayjones41156 күн бұрын
The tank was 13.4 litres from as soon as the last bar started flashing to brim full... Probably 135 between tank fulls. Next few weeks will tell. Thanks for watching Dave. 👍

@rayjones4115 have you tried them in comparison to Michelin road 6gt tyres because I bought a pair of Michelin tyres for my bandit 1200 and I paid around £340. I was wondering if you get as good of a tyre at a better price point.

Just part exchanged my ZZR1200 for a Z1000sx after 10 years of ownership. Feels really weird but oh so much lighter. There's very little difference between the ZZR and the VFR wet weights. 270kg compared to 267.
@rayjones41156 күн бұрын
There are various different reports of each weight wise. But you're right, some say wet weights are the same. Thanks for watching. 👍

I weighed my standard DCT with full tank but with a Lithium battery. 143kg at the front and 139kg at the rear. It's a lardy old thing.
